Is it possible to live without pills?

If you are in perfect or near perfect health you can live without pills. If you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol (that diet cannot control) are prong to seizures, have arthritis or a list of other illnesses or conditions, then the answer is no.

Now someone is going to respond that says that there are natural remedies and other technieuqes that eliminate the need for medication. My son was in a near fatal car crash. He had brain surgery. He is a candidate for having seizures. He has never had one because he was put on medication immediately. I am not taking the chance of having him change to some other natural remedy that may or may not work.

People can misuse, overuse and refuse pills for different reasons. They do serve a very legitimate medical purpose when used in the right dosage for the right illness and are not abused.

Dear Larry, I am very sorry for your son and I think that in his case it is impossible to avoid medication.

Thank you. I had this discussion before and have had to use the same argument, which usually causes people to step back. People take often  pills for the wrong purpose. I have had several surgeries, pain pills, used properly, can be very helpful.

yes, if you are healthy, no headache or any illness, then don't give in to pills.. even supplement vitamin pills. Go natural. Fresh fruits and vegetables are the best. Pills that we consume do not dissolve easily. In long term run, we get addicted to pills and body runs down easily if we missed the pill consumption.

Dear Peachpurple, I agree that a heathy diet can prevent health probems but I doubt that fruits and vegetables from supermarkets have  lots of vitamins. All vitamins come only from the sun and what can they contain if they are picked up still green?

If you are healthy, definitely. Some illnesses can also be treated naturally but not all. I had to have my thyroid killed when I got Graves disease. I now take a thyroid replacement pill every day. Without that pill, I would waste away and die. Miserable death too.

It is so good that we live in the time when you can get these pills and that they help you.

In some cases yes. However, if you include effective nutritional supplements then my answer would be a no. In most modernized areas of the globe, people are highly unlikely to be able to eat a wide enough variety of nutritious foods in the quantities required to bring about benefits from the nutrition of the food.

As for pain killers, antibiotics, chronic medical issues, etc. The pains & medical complications of life cannot be overcome or lessened without pills. Some people that are athletic or adventurous will lose their ability to live their lives in a manner that they choose or even function on a daily basis if it were not for pills.

A lack of pills for some medical patients may end their lives whether it be directly or indirectly. The more I think about it, the more I feel that the answer to your question appears to be no.
