What do you think is the ideal Father's Day celebration?

Is it more about being with family, your kids, eating a great meal at home, or eating out at a restaurant, the gifts, etc. My father is no longer around and we enjoy old stories about places we went to, or funny things we did together, as well as things that we got in "trouble" for and dad's reaction.

It's whatever suits your father best. Some fathers are not terribly social and would hate to go out for a meal, others love to go out somewhere with all their family and have a great social gathering or a BBQ.

That's a nice idea to celebrate fathers' day even when your father is no longer around.

DreamerMeg: Thanks for your response, it's true some fathers don't like to be too social while others do, it's all about personal preference. See my Hub: lupine.hubpages.com/hub/FathersDayIdeas

For me, its all about doing things with my kids and my dad, boy stuff, going to a baseball game, bbq some steaks and having a beer(with Dad of course only) it's about reflection of the past and ideas for the future. It's a good day to do nothing but enjoy being a dad and with yours.

KDF, yes, I agree with you. Just enjoy being a dad  and being with your dad because these are times everyone will always remember and talk about. Great answer.

Fathers would really enjoy having a night be his family. A party bus can give you and your father along with your family more intimate bonding. You can inquire here - http://www.partybus-rental.net/

Thanks for the idea...a partybus with all your family, no need to take everyone's car.
