I do not know what to think about this one guys.
I have had over 250 Page Views a day for 3 days but zero comments.
In fact
Top 5 Hottest Hottie Videos Ever has
Hubscore > 82
Comments >17
1 Day > 156
7 Days > 1226
Published > 04/06/08
Does anybody else think there might be a problem with my comment section?
17 out of 1226 is rediculous isn't it? I didn't wanna bother hubpages with it and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience.
If no one responds to this I'll know I'm just being shunned! ;0)
Please help!
I get it all the time. I shouldn't worry about it Also, it depends on the hub. And sometimes, if it has all been said.....
I even turn the comments off on some hubs.
Does your hub create impelling discussion, or it is just something viewers only want to look at? How many visitors are even making it past the erroneous content you have at the top to actually get to the videos at the bottom? How many of those page views are meaningful interactions and how many are just quick lookie-loos?
A large number of page views does not imply or guarantee lots of comments, lots of ad clicks or lots of anything more than just a web glance. If you want to convent all those looks into something else, it's going to take some work on your part, and more than a week of hub existence.
Re: How many visitors are even making it past the erroneous content you have at the top to actually get to the videos at the bottom?
Huh? Erroneous? Are speaking about me specifically or hubs in general? I've never given false info on any artist that I have featured, in fact, my research is more thorough than anyone else's that I've seen around. And I've been to every other entertainment hub to see what's out there.
Perfect Example: Stacie has a great HUB called 10 Women Hotter than Paris Hilton.
Now it's coming from an angry point of view, but she has great points in it. She has a perfect hubscore for it. She does not discuss any of the women's work in terms of career moves or anything, just little blurbs about how nice each woman is with a great quote that each has said. I like this hub a lot.
My similar HUB The 100 Hottest Women in the World of Pop Culture has 100 to her 5 and I have ads covering the pivotal work that each has been in. It has an intro about 'types' that guys form in their head which I defy anyone not to laugh through, and the falseness of shallow.
It has an original poem about this as well. HUBSCORE 80.
I'm sorry you decided to interpret constructive criticism on a specific hub as some sort of personal attack. I thought you were asking for feedback as to why people aren't commenting more on that hub, and that's what I offered. Looking back, my use of the word erroneous wasn't the best choice, and I apologize for that. The word "unrelated" is more what I was after.
That hub starts out with a long text passage that I feel really takes a while to get around to connecting to what you are eluding to in the title. If you don't capture and engage the hub visitor right off the bat with something that connects with what was promised in the title and description, you run a very high chance that they will then click away to someplace else.
Gotcha. Didn't see it as a personal attack, just confused. Thanks relache!
See, I still have so much to learn b/c I was under the impression that the ONLY reason I got on the hottest hubber page was b/c I related it in this way.
A lightbulb is starting to go here. Are we saying that a truly great HUB is one that sparks/provokes conversations? Maybe I'm not getting the debatable comments I want b/c my hub just doesn't inspire them.
I'll never understand the things that get rewarded with perfect scores even though they just copy the content from TV, but oh well. The more this point gets ignored by hubpages the less I care.
All work and no hubscore makes Jamie a bored boy.
This hub is not from an angry point of view. And, there isn't the kind of "research" you are talking about because it is my opinion of what makes a woman hotter than Paris Hilton. In fact, it is even about my opinion of what "hotness" is. Just wanted to clarify that it isn't angry. If it were angry, it would be a very different hub.
As for your hub not getting comments - I agree with Relache: "But I can say my highest traffic and most commented-upon hubs are not the same at all, and they're both different from the one that earns the most."
It also depends on the kind of traffic you are getting - where it comes from. If you are getting 100s of page views from StumbleUpon, for example, you most likely will not get either comments or ad clicks.
You know what, angry was the word I left after trying five other words, and I'm sorry I just meant you were angry in your title because it is meant to examine why Paris gets the attentions when others should. Angry at the injustice of us all having to deal with her day-in day-out.
I'm really sorry. When I read the word erroneous earlier I had a similar reaction. You are gracious at all times Stacie and I appreciate your comments. I just added Stumble upon today myself and can see where you would get PVs without anyone investing in your site at all.
What do you guys think of Stumble Upon?
After a year and 3/4 here, all I can say is there is no one formula. But I can say my highest traffic and most commented-upon hubs are not the same at all, and they're both different from the one that earns the most.

What's your take on jealousy among hubbers on Hubpages?I published a hub a few days ago. The hubscore started at 66 and has been doing great. Two nights ago the hub went to 91. A hubber left a comment on the hub - "How did you get that many followers?". The hubber did not say anything...

Do you get email notifications of a comment on your hub, but when you check, there is no comment?I've had this happen several times in the last week or so. The email says that so-and-so has left a comment on your hub. I go check and the comment isn't there. It usually shows up...

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...
