Is it difficult for you to find public domain pictures to upload on hubpages?

    Which sites do you use?

I often use photos from Flickr. In their search feature you can choose the option of only looking for photos that have a creative commons license. Check the commercial button as well if you are making money. I also read the photographer's  profile to see if they have any specific requests. Sometimes they just like to have a heads up when you use their photo.

Ya, I just download and then upload. Copy the URL to the "Source URL" box and put the photog's name in the "Name of Source". I usually put "PhotographerX on Flickr" and, if present, add the photograph's title in the Caption box and the CC license.

I try to always use my own pictures if at all possible. Otherwise I use wikimedia commons. I can usually find a picture that will work with my hub but it really depends on the subject matter.

This article from the Learning Center has a great list of places to get free pictures as well as how to cite those pictures properly to avoid getting into trouble. Even if you think you're doing everything right you should read it. I thought I was citing things properly but it turns out I was missing a few things. http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/legal-image-use

That being said it's best to use your own pictures. Use ones from free sites as placeholders but try to get your own if possible. Most phones take really great pictures and digital cameras are pretty cheap.

I'm pretty new, but so far I've found what I need at Wikimedia Commons, otherwise I use my own pictures. Probably the more I write, the more sources I will need.

I use my own pictures, stock.xchng (www.sxc.hu/), morgueFile (www.morguefile.com/), and Flickr (searching for Creative Commons licensed photos -- note, you should attribute and specify the type of license).

I'm glad I stumbled onto this question -- I've never used Wikimedia Commons! Looks pretty sweet.

Mostly, I just use Flickr or Wikimedia Commons depending on what sort of Hub I need images for. But here is a Hub that contains a longer list towards the end.

I usually use pictures from Wikimedia Commons, Flickr or FreeDigitalPhotos.net and will place attribution below the photos.
