   Desktops will probably become obsolete.  I am not clear about what will replace them.  It's difficult to know what will happen.  I just know that laptops can produce the same quality of work - for most people, and laptops take up less space.

   That's a tough question. I've both, And to be honest I really love my desktop because of the size of the flat screen monitor.

   Desktops are still better for gamers, graphic designers and other who has specific needs, such as best video cards, large screens and fast processors. I do not think, that desktop become obsolete. Off course, most people do not need them at the moment, because desktop can be changed by laptop or other device. The problem is despite the fact that laptops are fast and so on, they have many problems such as overheating and others, so if manufacturers will not solve problems on laptops, many customers may turn back to desktops.

   What a desktop can do many laptop still can't and if they can, its probably going to cost a good chunk of money.  And its a lot easier looking at an oversized screen rather than squint and destroy the eyes.  But like Silwen said gamers like myself will still need desktops more than laptops as laptops can't handle much of the graphics without blowing a gasket, that's my opinion anyway.

   I don't think desktops will become obsolete. Even though smart phone and tablet are attracting more people, desktop is more convenient to use in office and at home.

   I hope not because I own a desktop.  I wish I had gotten a laptop because I like the fact that you can take them with you wherever you go.  I was told years ago that the laptops weren't all they were cut out to be unless you were going to travel and that's why I got a desktop.  The laptops must be more improved since those days.  I'm living on a pretty tight budget these days and I just don't like the idea of spending money for another computer right now!
