You can create your own station that plays the music you like!
Definitely it's finding new music. I love typing in my artist or song and making a channel out of it. Then, Pandora finds me music that I would have never even thought of looking for, it's usually music that's not on the radio (yet) and I've found so many new songs that I love just from listening to it.
I just love that they finally got rid of the 30 hour (or whatever it was) monthly listening limit, because I was hitting it every month. On the other hand, does anyone else feel like it tries to merge all your stations together? Even my stations that were seeded off completely different artists end up playing the same song after a while. Anyway, if you like discovering new music, another great site is 8tracks. Its listener created playlists, free, and no registration necessary. Totally underrated.
I like the fact that you can type in artists or genres that you like and the site will create a station based on that. The only complaint I have is the ads, which is only a very minor issue if at all.
It helps you to discover new music, or music you didn't know about, based on the music you like. I love to expand my musical horizons.
It is free and you get to hear the types of music that interest you. If you put one artist down you will get to hear similar artists and it could introduce you to a band or person you didn't know about before. You can create all kinds of music types so the possibilities are endless.

Recently I learned that the directors at radio stations usually determine what get's played day in and day out. I used to think that it was the record labels that had this power. Once upon a time I pointed the finger at the recording artists themselves. Until I placed myself in...
