Is the bond between a woman and her child stronger than the bond with her self?
In other words, is the motherly instinct stronger that self preservation. If so, where does choice come in?
Oh....born2care......I can speak for myself....THIS mother.....while easily assuming for other mothers, based on my years of life's experiences with them......but with every fiber of my being, I know that the bond between a woman and her child is the most fierce and incredibly powerful force imaginable....
My motherly instinct goes to unending eons of space beyond self-preservation......
Quicker than the blink of an eye, I would give up my life for my child....
THIS is where choice comes in, for that would me my choice, without thought or question........from the moment of their conception to all eternity..............
When you are raising children it is hard to think about yourself and your needs. Til this day I have always put my children's needs in front of my own. They will always be #1! As they get older I will give more to myself......life is short and they will be adults before I know it!
your readers, and perhaps, even yourself...............WANT me to say, YES.................
the fact of the matter is this..........................there is NOTHING stronger than the sense of self perservation.
Life is easy..........until, you find yourself......pitted against your greatest fear. That is the way, that it is.
Most of us................have never been asked to meet such fear head on. Those of us, who have...............well, we simply know.
Mothers everywhere, lament this cold hard fact. In fact, my own self stands wanting a replay.
Well, onegoodwoman,
I'm not stepping into this trap...Hahaha.
I will say this from a man's perspective, albeit without children, I believe there is a point where you have to cut the cord. Co-dependency would be a reason for example. Very Unhealthy!
Anotther excellent question. Well for some of us, yes my friend it is. But that goes for men as well; the not having bonded with themselves. It all depends on the person.
I think now that I'm 50, I've finally got to the point where I think I've bonded with myself. Have you?
When I become a mother to my 2 children, I would do anything for them. Everything about them come in first, regardless of food, education, free time, you name it. A woman bond with the child is much stronger than herself because that is the nature of a mother.

Were you bullied as a child and if so, did it make you stronger as a person or did it tear you down?I dealt with both bullies in school and a verbally abusive father (bully) growing up. It seemed I was an emotional garbage dump for many people. As a child, it damaged me immensely, but...
