What was your childhood nickname?
What did they call you for short growing up? Some of my cousins nicknames were Ash Crash, Andi Fandi, Krista Gail, etc. What were yours and did you like them? Why or why not?
Mine was a mix of a joke and a nickname. My mom couldn't keep the dog and I straight so Nick and Sookie were combined and I was called Snick all the time lol.
Tricia. Short for Patricia. I was sorry that in 3rd grade I insisted on changing my nickname to Pat. I miss Tricia and relatives still call me that.
From Richie to Spanky to Rich. Funny thing was, I always wanted to be a Rick or Ricky. Now, people try to call me Rick and I quickly correct them back to Rich. Then I wonder, "Where the hell were you when I was growing up!"
So, my family members called me "Bubs"...I didn't find out until I was older that "Bubs" was short for Beelzebub (the devil).......hmmmmmmmm
When I was young, I lived with my Grandparents in Europe...
( my parents resided in America) .... I had 12 uncles/ 8 male cousins..no girls in the family....I was awarded the nickname " Max" because I always had to prove myself and be as good as the boys, so as I grew " Max" , became my alter-ego..when it came to facing a challenge her strength carried me through.
Years later, after being re-united with my parents , they devulged a secret to me..I was a surviving twin, and her name was " Macsima " which in hebrew means
enchanted...and is also known as Maxine...I to this day still call on Max when life seems overwhelming...I never minded the name, as it made me feel I was never alone....
i have got too many nicknames!! my grandpa calls me kunnu, my dad calls me choti, my aunts n cousins call me katto n my friends call me katie!! lol
When my sister was learning how to talk, she called me "Waka". The name had stuck until I was in high school.
When the song, Luka came out, I got called that, and people still remember me by that name, which is fine, I answer to it.
When Pokemon came out, it just so happens that my name rhymes with Pika like Pikachu, or as Ash says, Peikachu. So a niece started calling me "likachu-pikachu". That name still sticks.
Then I find out, that in Serbian, if someone says something like "Lika-Pika", it's kind of like saying the female version of "Dick Johnson". So it's funny, I laughed.
My childhood nickname was Jamie, or at least that's what my mum uses to call me.
