Has anyone noticed that things have slowed way down on the hub pages?

Has anyone one else out there noticed that the hub pages has slowed down, and is going through a stagnant period now? If so why do you think that is? Is it because of all of the idled hubs (Zzz's) ?

I think the "forced review" of existing Hubs had some impact. However, I think we are in a lull. Vacations are over. Most students are back in school. There are school activities and other events that take up people's time, thus leaving them less time to participate in Hub Pages. Furthermore, I think there are a lot of repetitions on the forum and question pages. After all, how many times can you debate Obamacare, the Social Security Trust Fund, the upcoming election, the existence of God and other similar topics. Thus, I think many are taking a deep breath, maybe a break from Hub Pages to handle other things, and meet the other obligations placed upon their time. This may be good. It might give all of us a chance to recharge our batteries and come up with new ideas for Hubs and new questions to ponder, such as does Canadian Bacon, which is really ham, actually come from Canada. Granted, that is not an earth-shaking  question, and it will not impact my next pizza order, but it is one topic I have yet to see discussed, but for all I know, it may have received an in-depth examination a year or two ago--if it did, someone will tell me.

The "Idled Hubs" and the "Zzzs status" is just plain stupid...
Surely there is a better way to tell people that they want their crap off of their website....  Geez!

My traffic has been steadily going up but I have noticed that new hubs don't do as well as they used to.  I agree with "forced review" of hub hopping. It has discouraged me from using it not only because I can no longer skip through hubs I have no interest in but also because the grading scale is more complicated and takes more time than I wish to spend in the grading process.

i never check my traffic but i have noticed that a lot of folks that used to be on here are rarely here anymore, myself included. hubpages seems to be taken over by religion more then anything so i don't come on here as much.

You are correct, religion has become a dominant topic, but there are still other good hubs on other subjects , you just have to look a little harder. The appeal of religious topics is that no one ever wis an argument

This is actually a very good question, and the lately the hub pages certainly do appear as though they are going into a downward spiral. As for all of those unwanted Zz's I have a very good suggestion on a hub for getting rid of them - http://goody5.hubpages.com/hub/Quick-fi … led-status

YUP ! I have more ZZZ on my hubs than sawing a log..I have re-written them and NOT one comment have I rec'd...Then again some of my hubs which got great reviews were unpublished by HP for insufficent content/ content similar to already on internet..etc..so I am kind of in a slump...but I also have taken note there are some hubs published with the worst spelling I have ever seen, for  instance..
" the truk ranned off the road and hit the steal poll " you've got to be kidding..I thought..but it's there..anyway I have met many friend here at HP and hope we can continue in the future..just hang in there..cooler weather is coming AND so is the elections..perhaps after November HP will be deluged with new writes..
