Are humans meant to live longer through medicine or do we just harm the planet with over-population?

If each person on the planet lived in an environmentally-positive manner, I don't think increased longevity would cause increased harm.

Your question makes me think you are speaking metaphysically by your use of humans being "meant" to live longer. The alternative would be to euthanize people at a certain age, but that would have little effect with babies being born every day.

I live in Africa where the population explosion out-strips the continent and its people's ability to provide. I believe "environmentally-positive" is a buy-in that cannot be achieved when people are starving and is thus not realistic for some time.

I believe that, yes, humans are "meant" to live longer through medicine, in general.   That means that many people live with less pain, more enjoyment, more time with their families, etc., more time for their lives to impact society, and that's good for them and the family, and for mankind in general.

Harming the PLANET with over-population?!    Sorry, but that's not a consideration for me.  Seriously.  This planet was made for humans to live on;  not the other way around.

OMG..this earth is loaded with it's own Natural medicine, I do not believe the human body was meant to digest chemicals , alas...No cure yet found for so many diseases.

Organic natural foods, exercise and just plain sense would make so much of a difference in how we feel, how happy we are and what we care, truly care about.
Yes over population is harmful when one can't feed their young properly,or teach them aggressivley, or provide the bare assentials.

Making money from the oil, killing our fellow people, our sinless mamalls, ok I can't spell tonight (whales), radiation ,oh dear God I better not continue.

I however do absolutley believe many diseases could be so easily rid of if we just used what has been planted on the Planet to help us, and not for the purpose of ripping people off of what money they have or their lives, to further the corporate CIA's good times .

I pray everyday for common sense to return to this human, screwed up race, and YES I believe people are meant to Live longer, Love purely, and be Happy.
It is in each of us to make this happen...yikes) Hugs G-Ma

Well, humans did live over 200 years in biblical times. However, there weren't as many people around. I'm with the over-population.
