I think it would be the Jehovah Witnesses being the most peaceful,
I don't know of any religion for which or by which people have not died. Unfortunately. I think of those native Americans almost everyday and how they were diminished into nothingness without any care for their lives and future. My students and I pay great tribute to them whenever possible. One of my favourite sayings from the native Americans is: "Treat the earth well. It was not given to you by your parents; it was loaned to you by your children"
Hi John. Spiritulism, which is considered by many to be a religion.
I don’t think so there is any religion who hasn't killed any people.
I've never heard of anyone killed in the name of Buddhism. Since it doesn't follow any deities, they don't feel the need to force the opposition to follow their beliefs. The whole point of the religion is to control your emotions while finding peace and enlightenment. But I'm not an expert on it, so I could be wrong.
But there have been Buddhists kill. Ego is an equal-opportunity disease. It isn't religion that is evil, but the ego that religion is here to dissolve. Good point about controlling emotions
very good point about emotions ! Thank you.
Religions are not people. People kill people, as do acts of nature and sometimes animals, health issues, etc, or...time.
No religion has ever killed a human being, or anything else.
Awesome point, WTS. And, for me, it seems that ego is the root of all evil (not money, religion or ice cream).
Wesman, you're right. After all what is religion but a man made notion, anyway.
All religions have not killed any people.
As others have so pointedly indicated, people kill people.
Now, some people think money is the root of all evil. Some Hubbers think religion is the root of all evil. But I bet any one of us can think of several examples of killing that have nothing to do with money or religion.
Take for instance the unproven claim that Muslims killed thousands on 9/11. I seriously doubt it. Given the fact that the 3 WTC skyscrapers were brought down by controlled demolition and the fact that it takes weeks or months to prepare such 3 large, highly secure buildings, the only way Al Qaeda could've been involved is for the CIA and the Bush family run security company overseeing the World Trade Center to have had them involved.
No, it's more likely that the power hungry Rockefellers, Goldman-Sachs and Halliburton crowd were behind 9/11 to trick the American public into more lucrative wars, greater loss of liberties (for a false sense of security), and greater excuse to skyrocket the national debt (rapid transfer of wealth from the 99% to the 1%).
Native Americans killed by Christians. I suppose Hitler was nominally religious, but the real culprit behind all of those killings was selfishness (ego).
Perhaps your question and poster (photo) are based upon selfishness (ego). Are you holding onto your fixed idea and trying to cram it down others throats, as so many skeptics accuse the religious of doing with their discussion of religion? Or are you an innocent really trying to understand the ways of the world? I wonder!
Religion is a rescue mission and a body of knowledge of spiritual truth. Creation is superior to the created, not the other way around.
Religion has never killed anybody. It is misguided religious people who have lost their sanity and have other agendas that have killed in the name of religion. As far as i know, most faiths(with the exception of devil worship where i come from) emphasize on peace.

Why do religions do this?I've just watched a program where it was explained that a practice of an indigenous tribe was banned by missionaries as it was deemed not what civilised people would do. This practice was a lavish celebration of ones guests thought to bring honour. This is a more civilised...

Why do people of different religions constantly argue which is the the "true" religion? It seems like a never ending cycle. It seems like a war of words. I became caught in it at one time myself. I don't know that anyone will ever win it?

I keep hearing that the lack of religion is what is wrong with this country. Tell me what good has come from the christian religion here in America. What advancement in our society is a direct benefit of christianity?

Many get angry and hostile and the Christian premise that there is only one God.. Why? Christianity shares the promise of enternal life in heaven to all who choose Jesus. Why is that not appealing? Why are some so angry about Christianity?
