Why is it that every time I press MUSIC as a TOPIC the first three things I see are always Indian photo spreads with links.  What exactly makes them musical?  Why would hubpages think that someone who tags everything as music when it clearly isn't is the best musical hub?

Perhaps I'm just jealous but it doesn't make sense.

DJ, bollywood movies contain lots of music .in other words music is the main back bone of indian cinema..in every indian movie there is a minimum guarantee of having atleast 5-6 beautiful songs and the length of movie 'll be around 2- 3 hrs not like english movies which averages about 1.30 hrs with no songs.. many celebrities are famous for their item songs, which are the reason for boxoffice movie hits ..so havinga music tag in the related celebrity hub with their video songs.is not unrelated i think..smile

american people mainly listen to  private albums but in india we get an album with every movie..smile

Thank you so much for explaing that Soya!  i certainly did not realize that.

HOWEVER...When you hit ENTERTAINMENT you'll see three tags that come up.
        MUSIC, ROCK, TV

Aren't the trifecta here supposed to be.. music, MOVIES/FILMS & tv.

In that way when you hit Music: you can have the choice of ROCK, HIP-HOP, BOLLYWOOD, JAZZ, etc.

When did ROCK overtake MOVIES in a priority LIST is my real point.

Bollywood film stars could still fit in BOTH,  MOVIES & BOLLYWOOD.

My only point was there must be tons of hubs about Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, mp3 players & getting an agent but it makes it harder to (pardon the phrase) stumble upon them with the current system!

Soya I never made it to YOUR site specifically so if you do have more than just links kudos! I just think a writing environment should support writier's first.

I say the same thing about people who make lists about stuff they saw on TV.  Just because the shows their ripping off don't come knocking doesn't mean it's right to steal their lists or content that THEY no doubt put many hours into compliling.

Thanks again Soya for the prompt response.  I know your face so well from forums but when I saw all the same names over and over again I didn't put two and two together.

So every movie is like a new album too huh?  Sounds interesting but 3 HOURS!
I honestly can't sit through American-Length films half the time.  And if you've heard the songs on popular soundtracks over here you'd know they're mostly terrible.

JUNO and ONCE are two exceptions but the latter is a european film.

The crap that sells like HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL or generic Rap-Gangsta movies make me wanna puke.  Perhaps that is why most Americans choose to rewatch GREASE over and over instead.  We look at songs as only plausible when sung by a cartoon/CGI character.

SERIOUSLY...you know how many hubs there are about movies in here?  How could they possibly play second fiddle to ROCK.

Are they Bollywood actresses? If so, then musical would apply, because Bollywood makes heaps of them. Music, in that case, would be a relevant tag.

No, the #1 hub is from some chick who won Big Brother for Chrissakes!

Even if true, I shouldn't have to sort through them to find articles that are ACTUALLY about music?  Maybe the MODELS should have their own category.

I write music.  I like to read others who write about music.  It shouldn't be this frustrating to find them.

    I didn't find any when I did a search.

But, you can always flag them if you feel they are inappropriately tagged. That's one of hubpages' criteria and if they agree, the author will have them unpublished until the tags are removed.

Nah...I'm much more of a point out foibles and see if anyone's listening rather than a flagger of other people's work.  I'm so in favor of their place on the hub, but...

if you press Topics then hit Music under the entertainment banner you will find a list of the 4 best hubbers on this subject.

Angelo Harris, zachfree, DJ Funktual and Shailina

HOWEVER EVERY SINGLE ONE of the first six hubs listed is a Bollywood Sexy Photos thing which by the way HAS NO WRITING TEXT AT ALL...I thought we rewarded writer's here?

Why exactly does Shailina OWN ALL THE BEST SPOTS??

If you want to read something from either zachfree or Angela however you'll have to wait because their hubs don't appear until page 4!!!!!!!

      Where's the justice in this?????

If I want to read about Led Zeppelin or Pavarotti, there should be a place where I can find them side by side.

MY Solution:  GIVE PHOTOGRAPHY a section.  or GIVE BOLLYWOOD a section.

This seems like a really easy thing to fix.

      HELLO HUBPAGES??

In that case, you could report the hubs you think are deceptively tagged. I can't remember if that's a category in the reporting area, if not there's the 'other' category.
