I honestly have to say know. You have to give and take in a relationship. It can't always go the way you want it to, so sometimes you have to sacrifice things in order to keep each other happy no matter how small it may be.

    Absolutely! Love is given (freely).
The word "Sacrifice" infers one has to pay or give up something (they'd rather not do) in order to acquire another thing. From time to time one may have to "compromise" but you should never have to sacrifice. All relationships are "at will". No one is (stuck) with anyone.
Ultimately the goal is to find someone who shares your same values, wants the same things for the relationship, and (naturally agrees) with you on how to obtain those things. If you are feeling like you are sacrificing your wants and needs in order to be with someone then it's a good possibility that you have selected the (wrong) mate for yourself.
There is no amount of "communication" or "work" that can overcome being with someone who does not want you want.
    One man's opinion! :-)

very true i must say, however having said that, isn't it a bit too idealistic. Its never a perfect scenario out there and more often than not its the ability to adjust that determines the sustenance of a relationship in the long run.

prabhav30, Perfection is not possible. However agreeing on the (major) things in life is! As one popular book states: Don't Sweat the Small Stuff. Most breakups and divorces are not over "small stuff". :-)

love always needs compromise not sacrifice.. sacrifice means when you leave or take something  to get something in return...  but compromise means when you forget your little wishes to fulfill someone elses'.... but yeah.. both hearts needa understand....  so i would say love can work with compromise... not sacrifice always... smile
