Some people say that dogs look like their owners.

Do you know of someone that looks like their pet pooch?   My husband is short, stocky, muscley and has short, black hair, just like his beloved black staffie! (staffordshire bull terrier)

I know lots of people who look like their dogs! We tend to choose dogs with traits we either admire or feel comfortable with.

More than looking like their dogs, I find that a lot of people and their dogs have similar personalities and attitudes - I guess they rub off on each other!

I believe this theory! I have a few friends that own pets that look like them. I also believe in the theory that you marry someone that looks similar to yourself as well. So many people I know that got married can pass as relatives. That's how close they look alike smile

Dog owners do often resemble their dogs, strangely enough.  We recently saw a perfect example of this.  A young lady we know has a broad face with flattish features and distinctly downturned corners to her lips -- she's not caught smiling often, and she has a droll, almost lethargic tone of voice.  She is also a bit pudgy.  We ran into her at a horse show recently and met her dog for the first time -- a puggle with a classic pug face, pug expressions, and that plump pugly body.  (If she has a cat, I'm sure it's a Persian!)

My husband is most closely bonded to our McNab stock dog.  They're both natural athletes with the same play drive, and spend hours daily playing ball, running, and playing tug of war.  They, too, have much in common.

As for me, though, I must be a chameleon, because I have three dogs of great variation -- a Papillon, a McNab, and a ginormous black Lab.  I like to think I share qualities of each -- only the best qualities, of course -- not that my beloved pups would have any bad qualities!
