    Why do people fear what they don't know?

    Regardless of a person's spiritual belief, can you explain why people fear what they do not know? I would like insight from others here regarding Paganism and Wicca. Why do people judge on the bases of another person's belief system? And how much influence do you think the media had on this? I would like insight because I want to possibably write abook on why people fear the unknown. Thank

    Because we are comfortable with what we do know. Also because of what people say around us. For example, Paganism and Wicca do not have quite a good reputation.

    People fear the unknown because it is unknown. When we don't know about something, we don't understand if it is dangerous, safe, real, a lie, or anything else. As such we are more cautious because we are unsure of the stability of whatever we are about to examine
