What are some good - stylish - ideas for crochet projects?

I don't want to make dolls. I need ideas that would please a teenager.

Good idea; I'll look into it. That would be good for the younger granddaughters too.

Cowls and spiral scarves are a hot item right now. I've got some free patterns on my hubs, but these items are out-of-season right now.

If you can find some patterns for summer scarves crocheted with thread, they are stylish too. A small purse is another thought.

I suppose cowls are out of season, but spiral scarves in light colors and yarns sound like a good idea. I see them but don't know how to achieve the spiral. Good ideas!

I suggest a shrug . . . they are in style these days, and can be a simple or fancy as you want. Use a light yarn and they can go over a tank top for summer. There are a lot of great patterns on-line, and probably patterns/links on HubPages too.

I haven't seen teens in shrugs - prehaps a little too stylish for this area.

There are some easy yet darling teen style bags to crochet.  Just look for small shoulder bags (Google, Pinterest, etc.)  They can be created for all seasons and personalized in so many ways.  Maybe we'll see some of your projects in a hub?  smile

Hmmm.. I have a lot of projects, and pics of some. Didn't know I could have a hub for them.

Project hubs are fun to do and comments from people interested in that particular craft are often interesting.

I have a hub on crochet bracelets, ( http://followthestray.hubpages.com/hub/ … -Bracelets ) those might be nice.  You could also make earrings by using thin yarn or embroidery thread and crochet small lace patterns.  You can then stiffen the earrings with fabric stiffener, though I usually just let them be.  I made several pairs of crochet earrings for friends and family, not only are they quick they're adorable and people love them.  You can adapt almost any lace patterns, though I tend to go for the center of doily type patterns to create round earrings.

Sounds very nice. I did crochet (in thread) a choker necklace for y granddaughter; she loved it. Only took about an hour.
