   The Federation of American Bubble Wrap Manufacturers doesn't think so. In fact, they praised Bloomberg's decision to install automatic bubble wrap dispensers at all NYC subway stations, providing riders with the much needed ability to protect themselves against accidental bumping while riding the trains. (Plus, being a native Bostonian, I have no issue with NYC'ers being illiterate.)

   Next to the worst..............Mayor Rudy Giuliani was the worst mayor.   He divided the city among racial lines.   During Mayor Giuliani's tutelage, there was massive police brutality especially towards men of color.    The New York City public school system especially in the Black and Latino neighborhoods were abysmal to say the least.   Black and Latino children in the New York City public school system receive an inferior education compared to children in the more affluent New York neighborhoods.    However, the teachers are not the only ones to be faulted, many of the parents of these Black and Latino children are not active and involved regarding their children's education.   They believe that their children's education is the sole responsibility of the teachers, not them.   In order for the public schools in the inner city neighborhoods to be more educationally effective for their children, these parents must be more involved and proactive. 
   
   Let me not digress.  Mayor Bloomberg is somewhat removed and clearly does not have the priorities in correct order.   His main concerns should be to devise methodologies as to how to improve and revitalize the current educational system so that 95% of the high school graduates are literate and college prepared.   Also, there should be more concentration in creating viable ways of employment and decreasing housing costs.   Sadly, Mayor Bloomberg does have his values completely askewed.   Stop concentrating on the less significant issues and concentrate more on issues such as education, jobs, housing, and eliminating the homeless situation.

      /weismann, he was supposed to be in office for 2 terms.Regarding the 3rd term, there was a running mate, a lesser known school board member whom I voted for.However, Mr. Bloomberg, a billionaire, used his money, influence, and was elected a 3rd term.

   Growing up in NY my whole life. No...he's not.  But he is getting there.  I would have to say it was David Dinkins.  During the Dinkin's adminstration, at one point the city averaged about 8 homicides a day.  It was total chaos.  Times square was riddled with prostitutes and peep shows.  The subways were like a war zone covered in grafitti with constant muggings, rapes, assaults and murders.. The city was extremely unsafe in areas that today are once again popular tourist attractions. The Guliani administration greatly cracked down on the crime in the city.  He helped bring in some major investment dollars to areas like time square from companies like Disney that totally revitalized key areas of the city.  Today, while NY certainly still has it's dangerous areas like any big city, it is actually one of the overall safest cities in the country.  Yet the Dinkins era was one of near total lawlessness.  One where race hustlers like Mason, Maddox, and Sharpton ran wild.

   I can't truthfully answer the question as I live in a very small town BUT. . . I do know one thing. If this jerk were mayor in my little town he'd get his pink slip and final paycheck at the end of his first week of work when he tried to outlaw big soda pop! We have a little food bank that helps support our poor and when this idiot began measuring salt and fat some of our city fathers would definitely pay him a visit and explain what "starvation" means. He's so far short of common sense I don't even think he could get elected by us "country people" as dog catcher -- we think more of our critters than that! Good Question!
