Hello everyone, ready for another challenging week?  After spending a week travelling by car, train, bicycle and even dog sledding I can say that more than ever I am in the mood for travelling and exploring all those fantastic ideas that you have been sharing with us along the week.  Thank you for the fantastic 40 hubs on Transportation.

This week, we are going back to a more serious topic: Education and children.  The Christmas holidays are approaching fast and with it comes the school holidays.  In some parts of the world the Christmas holidays signal the end of the school year while in other parts of the hemisphere, Christmas is roughly half term.  In any case, this is a good time to evaluate the progress our children are achieving at school in order to make informed choices for their future education.  This is how this week we are going to hub about Children's education.

Some ideas for a HubMob hub on Children's education are:

    Best Educational Web Sites
Education for Kids around the World
    Public School vs. Private School
    Homework Help
    Preparing for Tests
    Clubs & Extracurricular Activities
    College Preparation
    High School Graduation
    Music & Marching Band
    Parents & Teachers
    Physical Education & Sports
    Regional Schools
    School Events
    School Government
    Science Fairs & Experiments
    Sex Education
    Social Life
    Teaching Religion
    Tutors

To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:

    1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK.  Choose the Answer the Request green button.  Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.

    2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"

    3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/question/28519/hubm … ew&rss

    4. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.

    5. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.  Take advantage of the free publicity!

If you are still not sure about what is a HubMob and the benefits of taking part in one I created this guide What is a HubMob   please feel free to come up with any questions if you have any doubts left.

Hi rebekah, you cannot use previously written hubs.  Sorry.  All hubs MUST BE STARTED ANSWERING THE REQUEST LINK at the top.

However, you can write a new hub and include links to your previous hubs on education.
For example, in your new HUbMob hub you could have a link capsule with your other three hubs under a tittle like "More education hubs by rebekahELLE".  That way you wold have all 4 hubs connected and extra exposure for your previous 3 hubs.

      I hope this helps.

What a great topic!  I don't have kids, but I've had a little education here and there myself wink, so I'll join in if I can find a spare moment (what with picking up a bazillion things Hup used to do).

I'm also hearing that there are still some problems with the RSS feed, and I'm looking into it, rest assured.

Well, I'm sorry guys, but there's still no resolution on the self distributing capsules.  I keep moving what slides below the comments and they keep sliding back after the 'done editing' button is pushed.  I deleted all the capsules that scrambled.  I don't know what else to do except to whip up another hub or two a.s.a.p.

I've just read your messages and here I am.

      ok. let's go in steps:

      1) This is the HubMob graphic:
      http://i43.tinypic.com/rup3mg.jpg
you can copy it to your computer and then upload it to your hub in a photo capsule.

      2) To add the HubMob RSS feed you need to add an RSS feed capsule to your hub and then paste the URL that you will find there.  For this week the URL for the feed is in this page: http://hubpages.com/question/28519/hubm … ew&rss

      3) You can still publish your hub on new year but you DO NEED to go to that week's topic : http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/27336 and copy the relevant RSS feed.
Remember that YOU NEED TO START YOUR HUB CLICKING IN THE ANSWER THE REQUEST link for that topic if you want your hub to be added to the RSS feed.

I hope I helped.  If you have any more questions just give me a shout and I'll bring my old bones back here smile

Hi aoiffe, the Hubmob weekly topic lasts for one week and ends on Monday so the current topic will end on Dec. 7. That said, you can still actually write a hub about the topic even after the week ends and just post the link here. The disadvantage of this is that you will miss out on promoting your hub if you do not join the hubmob during the designated week. But then again, your hub will still be included in the RSS feed plus you still get to participate smile. Hope this helps.

Am I too late for this topic admission?  How long have I got before it closes?

I am fairly new at this and am still learning the technical stuff.  It might sound stupid, but how do I get the mobhub graphic into the hub?

Can I also put the hub toward the 30 day hubchallenge?

This 'RSS feed' thing, I dont know much about this.  Do I just simply press the button to subscribe?  Is that all I have to do or do I have to do other technical things, like feedburning?

If I am capable of fulfilling the technical criteria you have asked - and I have read Princess's hub on this - I would like to do a hub on tutors based on my learning experience when I did my further education course.  Does this fit the criteria as it is more to do with teaching young adults?

I dont want to mess up, so please give me some feedback.

    I value your comments.

Hello - I'm rather new but here's what I did:
With the graphic I copied and pasted it to my desk top and then inserted it as a pic from there.
With the RS feed - I had all sorts of trouble with that too.  I took another hubbers advice and copied the link Princessa has given at the beginning to a new internet page and then when it opened I copied that link to my hub in the RSS field.  I know that this isn't the most efficient way but when I tried other ways I had trouble.
Good luck.  It is defintely worth the effort.  I've now been involved in two hubmobs and the traffic increaed.

I dont know if I have the time with all the fiddling about with the technical stuff, as it will be something new to learn.  I can knock out the writing no problem, it is the technical stuff!

When you said copied and pasted to desktop, did you just save the picture and the upload it to the photo capsule?

Still not sure about the RSS field issue - what is the rss princessa gives at the beginning?

        Thank you for responding x

I agree that it can be confusing but once you've done it you will feel so good!
The RSS field is step number three in the instructions at the beginning of this hub.

Re the picture - yes - I just saved it and uploaded as you would for any picture.
          Hope that helps.

Shaz, it's pretty easy. Use the instructions Princessa gives at the beggining (click on the link, click 'answer this question', click ;make a hub about it') - takes 5 secs and you're in a normal new hub page. The RSS URL is also in the instructions section, but just make your hub per normal and then you can copy it in after.

'the instruction section' on this thread?

How long have I got before this topic closes?  Im in the UK, so Monday to me, may not be Monday to you.

Can I also use it for the 30 day hubchallenge (I have committed to this and am in the middle of it)?

      Thanks again x

I actually don't know. UK is behind Australia time-wise, and America is usually further behind again. It's Sunday here.

Oh - the pic for HubMob I just right-clicked and saved to my computer so I can find it whenever. It just gets pasted into a normal pic capsule.

I think it would count toward HubChallenge - no reason why not and I saw someone else had noted on their HubMob hub that it was part of the HubChallenge too.

Page 1 of this thread has instructions from Princessa with a link to click to get started.
