What matriarchy means for men?
matriarchy is coming men will become the sex slave of women???
That is a load of cobblers,Celtic society was always a mariarchy, with the women holding posesion of all the property and land, the only thing men owned were their tools and weapons, and a horse, if they were lucky. Also, certainly in the latter part of the 19c, up to the second world war, the UK was a matriarchal society, as shown in Rowntree's study of British society, particularly around London, Bethnal Green. Women married and the family lived in the wive's area, where she had her mother, sisters, aunts, etc to help with raising the children.
A matriarchy is a social system organized around the principle of mother-rule in which mothers, or females, are at the top of the power structure. There is no solid evidence that a matriarchal society has ever existed. Even in societies with matrilineal descent, the power structure is either egalitarian or dominated formally by the father or some other male figure. In order for a social system to be considered a matriarchy, it would need the support of a culture that defined women’s dominance as desirable and legitimate. So, even though women are the authority figures in single-parent families, they are not considered matriarchies.
