   What steps do you feel that Hitler used to empose his power ?
   
   Hitler rose to power and then tracked down countless people and slaughtered them.  Why did the people not resist the military?  What happened ?  Could this same tactic or scheme be used today ?  Are you seeing any approaches today that resemble what Hitler did ?

   To begin with the people of Germany were unhappy with the Weimar Republic. It was members of this government who signed the Treaty of Versailes. Most Germans hated this treaty and the fact that one of the people to sign it happened to be a German Jew was used later in propaganda by the Nazis.
   
   In his book Mein Kampf, Hitler made it clear that there was a hierachy of races with those of true German or Aryan blood  right up there on the top. Naturally people out of work and who felt down trodden were happy to think that they belonged to a superior race. Hitler spread the idea that Germany should have won the First World War but was stabbed in the back by Jewish profiteers working against the Fatherland for the sake of profit.
   
   When people were starving the Nazi party under Hitler opened up soup kitchens to feed the people. This sort of thing garnered a lot of loyalty and support from the general public. Given a choice between supporting the Communists or the Nazi Party naturally Industrialists chose the Nazis rather than the old enemy. The Industrialists thought Hitler was a clown and easily controlled. They were wrong.
   
   Isolation was the answer to how Hitler's persecution of the Jews and the Gypsies met with such great success. When he came to power he made certain laws separating the Jews out from the rest of the German population. There were park benches for non-Jews only. Jews could no longer act in the theatre or even go to the theatre. People who had always considered themselves to be German became outcasts and thus strangers in their own land.Once the Jews were well and truly isolated it was easy to throw around propaganda illustrating the differences between 'pure' Germans and the rest. Yes, isolation was the key. Could it be done today? Yes. Minority groups that either isolate themselves or become isolated in any society can be in danger of savage discrimination. Answer? Be out there. Don't allow yourselves to be isolated.
   
   The German Jews did not at first resist the military because they couldn't believe  the reign of Nazi terror would last or there would be a holocaust. 
   
   Right now Muslim communities in Australia, the UK and the USA need to make their peaceful intentions known and clear. There are bad Muslim nut-jobs around and they tend to get all the publicity. Hence if the Muslims that simply want to live in a peaceful world of mutual cooperation with non-Muslims don't speak up and be counted they may find themselves in real strife.

   Adolf Hitler, the dictator of the mid 1930's to the mid 1940's was not actually a German, but an Austrian.
   He was born in a suburb of Salzburg Austria, where at the age of three he and his family moved to Passau in south east Germany, but eventually the family returned to Austria in 1898.
   The NAZI Partie was actually called the Nationalsozialistishe Deutshe Arbeiterpartei, with the short form coming from the first word Na--------zi--------- ( Nationalsozialistishe). This Partie is like any other workers Partie, be it Labour Partie or Social Partie or whatever they are called the world over.
   Hitler came to power in 1933 as Chancellor of Germany, when his Partie won the election at the time. He gave the people jobs, which was a great relief for the many out of work, ie. they built new roads the length and breadth of Germany.
   The word "Heil" is said to come from the time Hitler used to greet his friends with a wave, the same as we do "Hi" and wave your hand.

      You are right about Hitler not being born a German but an Austrian. For that matter he wasn't blond and blue eyed like a good Aryan or German should be. He did serve in the German army during WW1 and that was a selling point to the German people.

   To put it short; Hitler did not have to do much to impose his power. The Germans already believed that they were the superior race.
   They had been persecuting the Jews for centuries.
   Germany for Germans, Hitler's slogan just affirmed what the German people already wanted.

      Actually, not.  Historically, Germany had been one of the more tolerant European societies toward Jews.  Many, like Spain and England, had expelled Jews completely; Russia killed and segregated them.  Germans Jews could be safe and successful.

      I think you need to research on the Empires in history, and you will find that England was the biggest Empire ever. Having said that, they also along with all the other western European countries controlled most of the world

      Actually, when the Jews were being persecuted in Russia, Germany was considered to be a safe haven for them. Only on certain occasions such as German Christians going off on Crusade were the Jews persecuted in Germany.

   The Us are doing it today-Yesterday in Vietnam. it is called ignorance and self-importance. I cannot accept the cloak of  innocence that soldiers dress in.
   In Vietnam a whole village was rounded up and shot------who did the shooting of other peoples children ?

   1. Give the people a common enemy and an easy target at that (The Jewish).
   
   2. Use the resources of this target to fulfill parts 2 and 3.
   
   2. Give the people what they NEED. Something they seek and is embedded into their culture.(Jobs and great infrastructure in an efficient manner)
   
   3. Give the people what they WANT. A chance to reemerge after the first world war. A chance for revenge. A chance for Hitler to use a down and out people by harnessing all of his hate and spreading it with a fake message.
   
   Mob mentality is a sad and evil thing. Is it happening today? Not like the Nazi's. If people claim that it is, then it is not. Why? Because if it was happening, it wouldn't be the same method. Although history does repeat itself, only the end result seems to be the same. The mechanics of how this result was brought about will never be the same. Did people see it coming? No. Will they see it coming next time? No.
   Will they claim that they saw it coming? The crazies will, but they claim everything is the next big thing. Just like some people say they saw Hitlers rise to power. He came from nowhere and within a few years was what he was. They "saw it coming" after his aspirations had already been made clear, so therefore, it was already to late and was already upon us.

   There were things that Hitler did that he was in control and other things that he was not in control. He wanted to correct the horrendous penalties imposed on Germany on its defeat in WWI. For one, the outrageous reparations were too high that triggered a runaway inflation that made a lot of Germans suffer. Hitler used such suffering as fuel for his harangues to rouse anger and sense of vengeance on the part of Germans.
   Hitler could have been satisfied that Germany stood as equal among nations in Europe or in a more advantageous position. However, Hitler might not have planned to weaken other countries in Europe to replace the British pound as the dominant world currency. To raise financing to rearm Germany had a poor prospect as that could be done more likely by printing more money. Such would exacerbate runaway inflation.
   Here came an outside force that wanted to replace the British pound with the American dollar as world currency, that come with it the opening of the market hitherto controlled by the British.
   This financed Hitler who was given the job of weakening Europe. It does not matter if Hitler knew that he was being manipulated. What mattered to him was that he could get what he wanted with that financing. .
   The last supplemental question should be:"Are you seeing any approaches today that resemble what was done on Hitler or his country ?"
   The answer to this question is very clear. The same approach is being applied: sponsor a government that can carry out your agenda. "Sponsor" is a mild term. That government is half controlled by controlling its economy or its central bank. Most senior officers of its government are being held by the sponsor's own people. Its president is largely made by this sponsor. Since this country is powerful, its actions and policies impact on lesser nations around the world.

   Germany believe that they superior than everyone else.  Hitler didnt have to do much. He simple want to purify the bloodline of the superior race and that lead to the extermination of other race.  Sad that it happen.

      Not all Germans bought the idea of superiority. It was tempting though after the loses put upon them. Hitler failed a number of times to gain power. He was eventually successful. In one attempt to gain power through force he was captured, jailed.

      Thats right. And the Germans did not like the Jews. Thousands were murdered in the Crusades, thousands were murdered during the Black Death, and succesive governments placed heavy taxes on them.

      You seem to have this thing against all Germans, ikepius. The Crusades made killing Jews throughout Europe popular and not just in Germany. It was in England and also in Spain that the Jews were all forced to leave. If they stayed they had to die.

      But he brings up an important point, which is that Anti-semitism wasn't invented by Hitler. The hatred towards the Jews was something that came from centuries back, and something that was campaigned by several organizations and individuals.

      I'm not saying that Hitler invented anti-semitism. He plugged into what was already there. To give the impression, though, that all non- Jewish Germans did not like Jews  isn't right. Hitler had to win many people over to his views and destroy some.

      Thief12, there were Germans who had nothing against Jews who were afraid to speak out. This came out in the Nuremburg Trials after the war had ended. People who didn't tow the line, whatever their beliefs, simply disappeared - arrested in the night.

      That's right. And also a lot of people who didn't know the severity of the actions of the Nazi. I think a lot of the population didn't find out about the mass murders and gas chambers until the war was well underway, right?

      The concentration camps didn't become death camps until the war was well underway. There was one Nazi propaganda film showing the Jews in this camp where they were, during the filming, treated well. I don't know how many people were fooled by it.

    Hitler enacted a law that Jews could not own/carry weapons. Jews were unable to defend themselves against the Nazi's. Also, Hitler was a great orator. His words sounded lofty - in the beginning, particularly since Germany was in the midst of a depression. He offered hope. But he had an agenda. His goal was to begin a New World Order.  What began as a democracy ended in dictatorship. The same thing that happened then can happen today.

    The demonization of Hitler's persona is such that it shadows his skills as a politician. But he was indeed a supremely gifted politician that knew how to appeal to the masses, and deliver. He managed to take Germany out of an economic hole at a time where despair was rampant among the population, and also fueled huge developments for his country in terms of infrastructure, and other areas. Plus, he was an excellent orator that knew how to rouse his audience. When you read about his rise to power, and the situation of Germany before and after, it's not too hard to see why he achieved such power.

    It has happened over and over again. Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, Idi Amin,  Slobodan Milosevic just to name a few. And it could happen anywhere, you just need the right conditions, people who buy blindly into propaganda and a someone who has the personality to to rouse those unhappy with the current situation. 
    
    I do hope people will remember ALL the people Hitler and National Socialism murdered not just the Jewish people, The Roma, the Homosexuals the Disabled and the list guess on.

       It was a belief with Hitler that Communists were basically Jews anyway or people being controled by Jews. This of course was nonsense.
       
       There were German Christians who would not follow Hitler and paid the ultimate price for their views..

       Patriotism is the feeling of admiration for a way of life etc. and the willingness to defend it against attack. The obvious difference between the two is that while patriotism is a passive attitude, nationalism is aggressive by nature.

    I do see certain similarities between what happened in Nazi Germany and what is happening now. Hitler turned people against the Jews at a time when the country was in terrible financial trouble. He told the people that the Jews were to blame for their problems. President Obama is dividing our nation by vilifying the "rich". He  is telling us that the evil "rich" are greedy and not paying their fair share. If not for the "rich" we would  be in worse shape than we are now. They build businesses and hire people. They pay enormous amounts of money in taxes.  I am also very concerned about Pres. Obama's use of executive orders. He is bypassing Congress and bypassing us. Hitler did the very same thing. It's time we opened our eyes and learned from history.
