   There will be every possible cause brought up (including Obama did it). But let me opine that the 3 bombings in Boston are the result of the Middle Eastern Wars coming home to visit death and destruction on the U.S.
   
   There's a lesson in this, but that probably won't enter the discussion. America is too divided to think rationally about these bombings. So America will unite around--having another war!

   A terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist. I used to be afraid of "terrorists from other countries that hated America" now I am just as afraid of "Americans in America that hate America".

   Americans can be terrorists too. There can be domestic terrorism and international terrorism. It is far too early to tell.

   It is terrorism regardless of who perpetrated it whether foreign or domestic. It is an act of cowardice and is absolutely terrorism. We will have to wait until they get the forensic experts involved to know the source.

   Terrorism is violence the purpose of which is to strike fear in the populace in order to generate pressure on its government to advance the political objectives of the terrorist. Though to confirm the Boston bombing is an act of terrorism we have to wait for the facts, which take time to develop and publish, it initially appears to meet the requirements of the definition.
   
   As other comments have pointed out, terrorism is not strictly limited to any one nationality or political movement. Some cultures are far more supportive of it than others, though, and so it is heavily concentrated in them. It being not only unwise but also foolish to divert into the trap of grossly unbalanced moral equivalencies, it is those cultures that should be the focus of attention on terrorism. That leads us first to suspect violent Islamist radicals, and rightly so.
   
   Early reports are that the hospitalized suspect is a young Saudi male, a prime profile of an Islamist terrorist. Based on the sketchy information available to us tonight, the tentative conclusion we have to reach is, as we should assume by default, Islamism is behind this act.

   Any act of cowardice involving innocent spectators and an intentional bomb is terrorism, whether the perpetrator is from a mansion in California or a mud hut in the mountains of Afghanistan.
   It prolongs the agony and in the long run gets everybody precisely nowhere. The IRA stopped bombing and within a generation of the ceasefire had power at the table.
   Isn't that all a terrorist wants? When will they get the message that ordinary folk don't want to be ruled by the threat of dictatorial executions, political imprisonment, assassinations and acts of suicide?

   Thank you for your feedback on this subject. I have to say I agree with the statement that no matter who is responsible it is an act of terrorism  created by nothing other then a terrorist. Where the person came from really does not matter it is the act of which they committed that makes them as such.

    I have no evidence of this, but I would speculate that it is an American who sympathizes with the Islamic Jihad. He is not a member of any group and he (or they) are acting on their own, Just my opinion
