Why do so many blame God for the evil actions of man againt their fellow man?
So many times I have heard or read from someone the following; " why does God allow bad things to happen"?. God is blame for man harming (or worse) their fellow man? And God is also blamed for all the other ills of the world. Why? I believe God is NOT the blame.
My friend, This really baffles me as well. Some claim not to believe in God, yet blame him for natural disasters, things that have happened in their lives, etc.
I think the worst phrase I have ever heard uttered is "What has God done for me?" Well, you are breathing. You have salvation at your fingertips if they would just accept that Jesus was tortured beyond comprehension and died on the cross just for them to be saved. So many need to see the truth before it is too late.
JThomps42- Far to many times God is blamed for the ills of this world. It is becoming more rare that satan is blamed for anything. Between man and satan, we've made the mess we're in. Thank you JT
You took the words right out of my mouth. Agreed 100 percent.
It seems that God is blamed when all the bad things happen. However, when the good things happen he is not given credit. Even thou there are bad things happening in the world both now and the present, there are more good things.
This is something I deal with daily. I work in what is generally called Risk Management. Also known as corporate crisis intervention. They do not call when things are going great. They call when somebody screwed up or when somebody gets hurt or when somebody gets sued. My job is to lesson impact and develop stategies to avoid liability and prevent reoccurrance. Obviously the first issue should be why? Although just as often it is damage control. But the why is what I first try to figure.
Maybe I have been doing this for 35 years or so. And I ain't never once seen the 'why' as God. It is almost always piss poor planning with worse execution and about ten percent man acting evil. What we call "acts of God" or nature do not even cause problems in man has prepared and factored in cost benefit and preventative measures.
In my youth I represented criminals in court. I never did hear one say, "God made me do it" although the devil was properly blamed frequently and if they did it right they would get a rubber room instead of a 300 lb roommate. I have also seen folks die. Never once did God cause it, yet never once was he not present waiting to be asked if they could join Him.
Proclaiming something as God's will is erroneous. I am sorry that that steps on some toes whose brain thinks they know His will. But those are sanctimonious bastards who are always welcome but seldom respected.
My friend graceinus, you are the fault of God. And I just paused and gave Him thanks for you in my life. No sadly enough so am I, so there are arguments that He is not infallible. hihihihi :-)
This is a great answer but that last two paragraphs do not make sense. Cam you clarify?
Sure Lois, Graceinus is wonderful. But those who oppose his wonderful open views and caring nature and great questions, would label him a problem of God's making. I adore him so I poke fun at those who may be bothered by him. Not enough room for both
OK TY for clarfying. My husband pokes at me calling me Holy Roly
In fairness the part of knowing God's will was fully justified. I just do not get it. (that does not mean they are wrong) I figure a woman who is adamant about knowing Gods' will for me is a bit of ------ shall we say as you did, a holy roller.
Eric- Thanks for your kind words and comment.
Funny, I did not mean them as kind. Only truthful. That I must meditate on. I think most the compliments I receive are kindness. Perhaps kindness is in me without thought. I suppose that would be good.
Eric-That is what I like about you, your kindness does not require effort on your part. It just seems to happen.
As soon as we put any qualities upon Divinity (only God is Divine) we limit the Source-of-All. Is it possible to know True Divinity? A male God limits God to being not-female. A Merciful Divinity does not have the Righteous severity of being just. A
It's rather ironic, I think. Everywhere I look people are trying so hard to remove any reference to God starting with the schools because it's offensive!
On the one hand people don't want God anywhere in their lives, yet at the same time they are very angry that God does not step in at a moment's notice to stop the evil that man does on this earth. It's contradictory and sad that people simultaneously don't want God in their lives but want God to somehow have control over every single persons actions on earth.
renegadetory- Thank you. I totally agree. It is like they want God only when and if it's convinient for them. And those who never called on God before, will usually do so at their worst and darkest hour. And then have the nerve to blame Him.
graceinus, I think there is a misunderstanding about what God is not. God is not a genie in a bottle you rub when you want a wish granted, nor is He an ATM. People want to create God in their own image, instead of understanding who He is.
I really like this sentiment. But there are others like myself who see God in all things good and bad, and we are in awe of both. Of course we do not understand it all, but have faith. Bad things happen I will always wonder why. But that is OK.
God gave the earth and every living thing in it to man. It is the way man runs earth and it is man that harms
Genesis 1:28
28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Deborah Sexton- Thank you very much for your answer. Genesis 1:28 does explain a lot if one understands it's context. Again thanks
Thank you Graceinus
I think the problem is that people read by skimming over text and they are not studying. They pick verses at random and think they understand

If we have free will to choose, why do we blame the devil for our actions?i find that there are so many people that claim that they have free will and they make their own choices, but then when something goes wrog they blame the devil. Why is this so?

Why do we assign to God the pettiness of man, when God is full of graciousness and love?

People who blame God for suffering are therefore claiming He exists! Many atheists do this too which is ironic as they claim He doesn't exist. I call it the " Blame God Paradox ".
