What is one historical sporting event you wished you could've seen live?

There has never been a shortage of amazing games, matches and moments in the history of sports.  Of them all, which one do you wish you could've seen live and in person?

This past year's NFL playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos!

Double OT, big Hail Mary, special teams touchdowns, cold weather.  It had everything.

I still today watch that "Unbelievable" 70 yard catch with 31 seconds left in the game, that Flacco threw to Jakobe Jones on U-Tube.

Unreal throw but even more unbelievable coverage.  Jones wasn't even touched.

    The Battle of Hastings.

Ok, maybe just the 1995 NFC Championship game.

      Between the 49ers and Cowboys?

Yes, their third straight showdown which the 49ers won.

I remember.  They scored 21 points in like the first eight minutes and then scored with eight seconds left in the half.  Unreal way for Dallas to go down.

Yes, and then the touchdown to rice at the end of the half is what killed them. Such high stakes for Steve Young and the 49ers after going down in defeat the prior two years. Good thing that defense showed up.

Prime Time totally shut down the Playmaker.  Aikman had nowhere to go.

The entire secondary was good in that game. It's scary how much the 49ers needed that quick start though. Young was a little erratic early on.

Dallas was the dynasty of the decade.  It's never easy beating a team in the midst of a historic run of championships.  Young had some jitters.  Not surprising.

Yeah well, those jitters might have cost him a trip to the Hall of Fame if not for the defense giving them an edge that year, as much as I hate to say it. Exactly what I mean by high stakes.

Young rewarded them with what he did against the Chargers shortly after.

I would've loved to had been there to see Jordan's shot over Ehlo in '89. I watched it live at my grandma's house.

Oh, most definitely.  That was the first real glimpse of that ice cold dagger he could drive into teams in big games.  Man, was he fun to watch.

Was it the 1980 Olympics when we unexpectedly beat the Russians in Ice Hockey?  That was something and would have loved to have witnessed it.

People always think of it as just an upset.  They so easily forget how great of a game it was.  So exciting, back and forth between two good teams.  Awesome choice.

I have seen a few recordings of the match, it did look a little rough but fottballers were real men in those days. these guys would have been born arround the war years so isuppose there were one or two scores to settle.

    Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki

Horrible fight, but just to witness the first MMA match in the history and seeing Ali getting his butt kicked.

Nice twist.  Ali always was involved in innovating.

There are so many to choose from, but a couple that stand out in my mind is Jordan's game winning shot in the finals against Utah in 98, and also the Super Bowl with Joe Montana finding Dwight Clark in the endzone "The Catch."

Definitely the Jordan shot for sure.  The last image of him as a Bull.  Also, the Clark catch was in the NFC championship, not the Super Bowl.  Great pick though.

Oh yeah that's right! It was against the Cowboys. I stand corrected!
