Why aren't you a christian? a muslim? a hindu?

   Hello.
   I am an atheist.
   I happen to believe in ( 0 ) number of gods.
   If you happen to believe in a god, any god can you tell me why you do? If you happen to be a christian for example can you tell me how you know the muslims are wrong about the quran being the word of god? How do you know? If you are a muslim how do you know that the quran is the word of god, and that jesus was infact just a human being. Lastly, how do you proove such a thing as omnipitence (all-knowingness) when the only possiable plane you can proove it by leave a strong chance of error ex:(800-2000 year old books, eye-witnesses) resulting in the countless denominations of all abrahamic religions.

      What?  Man if they made a movie about the entire bible exactly like it is written, you would have a flick that is rated R for extreme and graphic violence and XXX rated for adult sexuality and pornographic content, indecent exposure and habitual drug use.    I dont believe in god because my parents made it clear that I didnt have to. Therefore, I played football on the streets every day like the rest of my mates - whilst the religious kids stayed in being warned about the evils that lurk outside. I went to a church ran youth club, and liked the vicar, played a bit of football there.... but again, all I had to do there was read the Beano or play football.

      LOL, your post sums up a lot of English people's attitude to religion in a nutshell. 
      
      I'm an agnostic.  I suppose it's possible that one day some event in my life (near-death experience, perhaps?) might make me believe in God, but until then - provisionally speaking - it makes more sense to me *not* to believe.

   i'm an agnostic theist. the concept of god to me is a synonym of anything i don't know about. it's convenient for me.

      Are you saying that you entitle everything unknown with the label of god? If so isn't the word you use defined too loosely? Also can you alaborate on your position as an "agnostic theist". Do you claim to say there may be a god but you are not certain he exsist? How then are you differn't then someone who said there may not be a god? Let me know!

            Are you 100% certain that I am not a figment of your imagination? The answer offcourse is, no. There is allways a room for error in any calculation, specially in assumptions . But it doesn't make much sense to agree with EVERYTHING that defys positive evidence can be true. In other words, you don't have to know god doesn't exsist, the meere fact that you don't have any positive evidence leaves you as an atheist, just as much as not having positive evidence against santa claus would leave you an asantaclausist

               do you have proof god or something in a higher level of existence or intelligence doesn't exist? appealing to ignorance. that's the only thing here.
               
               atheists and theists are on same footing ground. it's either you believe or not. do you believe? yes, you're a theist. no, you're an atheist. we were born agnostics.

   Religions , it is is  a difficult subject and i think it is above our knowledge . At some point of life we have to admit that  there is a super power who controls everything , be it a god or alien.
