   For Christians only.   Does the bible require us to Judge or NOT to judge.
   
   Does the bible require us to judge?  If so what are we to judge?   How do we Judge?
   If we are not to judge why not?     Whatever your answer it must have scripture , in context, or it will not be allowed.

   1 Corinthians 5:12-13 [NIV]. "What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. Expel the wicked man from among you."
   
   If you take this one verse along with every verse you can find about Christians rebuking their brothers and sisters for wrong-doing, I believe it's strikingly obvious we're to judge another Christian's actions and do something about the sinners. Many Christians today are doing just the opposite. They judge those outside of the church and try to get them to change their ways, yet they turn a blind eye to those on the inside and the sin continues. Most often they will quote the verses about not judging so they can stop someone from rebuking them or someone else for actions they themselves are guilty of doing.

   We are to judge people by THEIR FRUITS, not the person.  God loves the sinner, but not the sin.  People take "judge not" out of context all the time to defend something immoral.

   There are different definitions of the word judge as well as the different references in context. Matthew 7:1-5 speaks of judgment in reference to condemnation. By this grouping of scripture, the bible tells us not to judge (condemn) others because we are judged ourselves by the manner which we judge others. When we condemn others as according to their sins, God also judges us as according to our own sins. No one sin is worse than another. Christ even said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". In this context, we are not to judge.
   
   In other contexts, Judging also means to formulate an opinion in an effort to correct or to gain understanding

   If memory serves me, we are instructed in Matthew 7, "Judge not, lest you be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
   We are to operate with discernment, but I don't regard that as synonymous with "judgment".
