   What on earth did we do before Google?
   
   Did we just go straight to the site for information? Before there were search engines, I think we used libraries and encyclopedias. If you're under 30, you can bypass this question.

   I get your point, I'm 43 and definitely remember using an actual card catalog at the library; different times. However, your question did make me wonder what was done on the Internet prior to Google. I wasn't heavily into the Internet until about 2007. But as far back as the late 90s, I did have an email; and I don't really recall using a search engine; I don't remember exactly what I did, think I just went straight to my email. I really don't even remember if I used Google back then.

      Funny, I can't recall when anything started either. Seems I heard recently that Google is 20 years old. Thanks for answering NateB11.

   You can take this question much further as well. Do you remember using a phone book and the Yellow Pages? Using a paper map to get around? Phones with cords? VCR's? Huge satellite dishes in the backyard to pick up the "good" stations? Those were the days.

   Back in the "day" we spent $24,000 on Yellowpages ads and the pay off was worth the ad money spent.. The Atlanta phone book then was 3 inches thick and two volumes at 3 inches each .Now the Yellowpages here is 1 inch thick; times have changed...

   How many people know what the Dewey Decimal System is? Can a strong man tear a P.C. in half? Where do your fingers do their walking? Do kids still look for naked pictures in National Geographic? When you Google, does anyone shoosh you? Should Google close on holidays? We could have a lot of fun with this. Thanks for lighten things up a bit. It's refreshing.

   You are right, that is what we used and I loved reading and going to the library. But what's even stranger  is that every time someone asks me a question now I tell them to Google it.
