   Do you believe there is a spiritual presence with Tarot cards or do you believe it's nonsense?
   
   I've always felt there was a spiritual presence to them.  It was a "negative" presence though, not a positive one.  One time I went beyond Tarot cards and purchased a Ouija Board and the lights started to flicker.  That pretty much spooked me so I returned it immediately to the store.  With Tarot cards, I feel a heavy presence.  It's hard to describe, but ever since I gave them up, I no longer feel it.

   Tarot is not evil. I have used the cards for years. I collect them for their art, and I use them for their symbolism. They are not fortune telling devices like many are led to believe. Hollywood depictions are bogus.  All they are is pictoral images on cards. When used correctly, they are designed to encouraged more well-rounded thought - to view different aspects of situations.  Nothing can tell your future, but your own actions. Tarot however, when used properly, can be a great psychological tool for insight. People tend to fear what they don't understand. How can a pack of cards be harmful?

   I view tarot cards as statistically accurate nonsense. When you deal with broad symbols, and thoughtful explication, you can 'predict' anything. For example, a psychic who says "two powerful structures will fall" a hundred years before September 11th, didn't predict the world trade center attack. Anyone, in any age, with enough information, can make a prophecy or prediction apply to the present. It's the same thing english students do when they examine a book through a specific lens, like feminism or racism. It doesn't mean the original author was racist, it just means that evidence can be found and used to make any case. The same is true with tarot cards and a lifetime worth of experiences from which to make associations. If I say you know someone whose name begins with 'J', it doesn't mean I'm psychic, it just means that there is a very good statistical chance you've met someone with a 'J' name at some point in your life.

   The power of thought is a wickedly cool thing, so whatever works for ya.  If this is your medium for mind power, then go for it.  Personally, I've never been interested in using Tarot cards nor have I participated in white or black magic.  I'm someone to talk, though, because I have loads & loads of metaphysical stones and healing crystals, but only bought them for decorative reasons.  Ha!  Anyway, maybe you can tap into the invisible frequencies and unravel the properties of quantum entanglement, in due time.

   I worked as a reader for many years and for me, they weren't necessary because i always looked at them as a prop that the customer needed as reassurance, not something I needed at all.  Same for the crystal ball.  I could hold your hand and I'd get the same "reading". 
   
   However, some reader do need them in order to open their minds to "visions" or help guide them to see things they may not see on their own, at least that's what some of my friends who read them say. 
   
   All readers are different.

   They do carry an energy that can be invoked. A lot of popular books at Amazon use them for spell casting. One spell I saw in a book said call the images to life and tell them what you want them to do for you. Even if it starts as imaginary, they will later serve you because the accumulative thought energy will give them existence in your mind. Add that to the fact that magicians, sorcerers and psychics have been using them for centuries and you get the picture. They already have a vibration in the astral world. Some people know how to direct the energy or combine their own energy with them. Others simply use them for guidance or receiving information from the subconscious mind like an oracle.
