    I notice that every time I wish to publish a hub so many capsules come up. Is this really necessary?

    You may not want to use the topic article template that HP throws up on the screen when you start a new hub. They obviously think it's helpful, especially to newbies, but you have the option of not using it and choosing your own format.

    However, if you don't zap the entire template at the beginning, you may find that the various types of capsules remind you of features you might want to try--a poll, table, video, etc.--that you might otherwise overlook, so they can be handy.

    When I started on Hubpages the templates were not as complex, we basically had to choose what we wanted to add. Sometimes it led to boring looking hubs from writers (me included when I was learning). Lots of text in one box, no pics ... in other words no breaks and hard for online readers. The template is just a guide, you don't have to use all the capsules, just get rid of the ones you don't need as you write.
