What happens when I edit an old hub?

Do all the comments disappear? Do past statistics disappear on that particular hub? What are the pros and cons of editing an old hub? Thanks!

I edit my hubs regularly, particularly on topics that are constantly updating, or if a hub is un-featured, and I want it to be re-featured. As long as you don't unpublish then republish your hub, the comments should remain to be there. I think it is only when you change the publishing status of a hub that you risk losing your existing comments. Same with stats etc. Generally, editing is good, as long as it's good editing- don't add random phrases just to bulk out the hub. Keep it on topic and well structured, and you will find that the hub will rate higher in search engines.

Thank you! My goal is to try to enhance some of my first hubs that I published. They weren't that great, and I'd like to attempt to make them a bit better. My plans are to add some better pictures and explanation.

Yeah, I have plans to do that as well actually! I haven't actually wrote many hubs recently- I just kinda fell out o f the habit, but I think I'll be looking over the existing ones, pimping them up,and also trying to get them more search friendly!

I've also edited hubs, some extensively, without losing the comments, poll results, etc. As Sparkley pointed out, as long as you don't unpublish it, you won't lose whatever viewers have added.

I have unpublished several hubs and the comments are still there. I would recommend unpublishing only if the intent is to rewrite the hub to the extent that the slant is very different. In that case, you may, if you wish, offer a brief explanation in your comments, "This hub was previously published as (title/date) and has been revised with updates and new information" (or something to that effect). From what you describe, an edit without unpublishing should suffice.
