Do you believe in a "Secret Rapture" and if so why?
If true that "every eye shell see Him" (speaking of the return of Jesus) how can there be a "Secret Rapture"?
The Rapture is no secret, it has been preached openly for many generations.
there is NO such thing as a rapture, it is a false doctrine from the 1700's.
The righteous SHALL inherit the earth--- as it was in the days of Noah the un righteous will be removed. scripture is clear on this. rapture is a false doctrine of men
But what verses support the Rapture?
Jesus directed these words to the Jewish remnant who would be living during the time of the end; they will indeed inherit the Earth. But the Church will be translated before the Tribulation period, and they will return with Jesus to set up His kingdo
glynch-- that is not what scripture teaches, it is what MEN teach and is not true. It is a doctrine of men.
These phrases come up now and again and people gather around in awe and make a big deal out of something man-made. As Christians, we have Scripture as our guide, anything else is man's folly.
I do not understand what you are saying. Do you think the Rapture is a man-made doctrine? Does not Paul say that Jesus will come in the air and take His people to heaven? If Paul wrote inspired Scripture, how is the Rapture man-made?
No sir, I am not saying that the rapture is man-made but rather the phrase "Secret Rapture." I should have been more clear.
That is why I asked the question; for I was raised to believe there will be no rapture of "the Church", however I know many Christians that are counting on it.
Paul meant the mystery of the Rapture to comfort Christians (1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:50-58). We are counting on Christ delivering us from the wrath to come (1 Thess. 1:10).
YES the false doctrine of the rapture is a man made false doctrine and was never taught before the early 1700s when schofield and darby and other name seekers promoted it.
People have been predicting the rapture/apocalypse since the beginning of Christianity (and long before under different names). If someone looks hard enough, and interprets events loosely, then the signs of the end are always there. Sure, the world will eventually come to an end, but not because of prophecy. If I say, every day, that it is going to rain. Eventually I will be right. It doesn't mean I predicted the future, it just means I cried wolf until one happened by.
The "Rapture" and the "Apocalypse" are not the same thing. Christ "raptures"-- takes the Church to glory-- before the seventieth week of Daniel; the "Apocalypse" is the last book in the New Testament, and describes Jesus' return to the Earth.
My point was that every generation claims biblical events are happening in their lifetime.
You are right. However, if God says that various specific things will happen, they will happen when the time is right. The Rapture has no signs; Christians look only for Christ's return. Those who set dates cannot and do not know; no one knows.
ufortunately you are wrong--- the false doctrine of the rapture has only been taught since the 1700,s The bible says as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be and he UN righteouse were removed and will be again. The righteous stay
The phrase you quote refers to Jesus' return to the Earth after the Great Tribulation concludes, not to His coming in the air to take the Church to the Father's house.
So these are two separate events? Can you prove that to me with scripture references?
The evidence is too extensive to put into this small space. If you wish to study them on your own, you might want to consult Dwight Pentecost's Things to Come, pp. 206-7. Any reputable pretrib rapture scholar will also include these differences.
G-- why do you never answer for yourself with scripture in context? you alwayS parrot or refer to TEACHINGS OF MEN. If we wanted that we would read their book or go to "church", we want truth from the Holy Spirit- that we can share with each other
There is no rapture and it is not taught in the Bible. Being changed in the twinkling of an eye and caught up does not refer to a rapture.
I believe this teaching of Paul and some things said in Matthew is where this false teaching comes from (mistranslated, misunderstood)
1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
And only the most righteous will go to heaven, the rest will be on the new earth
