What would you do if you found Your church was teaching a False doctrine??

Many churches teach things that are contrary to scripture (false doctrines)   What would   you do if you determined that Your church was teaching false doctrine?

celafoe- That is very simple, I would do what I did 34 years ago. I would leave and never look back. And then continue reading and studying the word of God for myself. This does not mean I don't want to fellowship with fellow christians, because I do, but I will not join any man made church or support them in any way, shape or form.

    Good question celafoe

A few months before I left I started pointing out errs in the doctrine that was being tought. After a while they would no longer hear me out. They were up set with me as much as I was with them.  So in the middle of my last service I walked out.

I would be talk to the pastor and ask him to show me why the doctrine they are teaching is correct. If he could not prove it to me with Scripture, I would leave that church.

It would then be time to put plan B into action.  Go to the next faith. ..and look for what you did not find in the last one. Seek and ye shall find.

hello jack, can you please tell, since you claim to be an apostle, where do I find the scripture that explains this  plan B in case I were to need it?

And while you explain to celafore your plan B, which I would like to hear this one too, would you also mind explaining what you mean by  NEXT FAITH for me.

It is all pertaining to a a matter of  seeking the truth.  1John 4 v 1 reveals that we should not believe every spirit, but try the spirits for many false prophets have gone out into the world.  True Christianity, would be your next faith.

NO, True Christianity should have been and continue to be your ONLY faith.  in Christianity THERE IS ONLY ONE FAITH, even though so many believe otherwise and  you were saying there are more than one.

All beliefs are not the same. There is only one Christian faith. But there are many religions. 1 John 2 v 9 They went out from us...but they were not of us.
Matt 7 v 16-20 Ye shall know them by there fruits. Sometime you have to look more than once.

.  how foolish -  there is only ONE Christian church.one  God. ONE faith, One church.    you are definately not an apostle

There is only one Christian church. But there are many beliefs about God which is call ....religions. You have to be able to know which is which. Do you know what a Christian is? The cross is idol worship under the 2nd commandment. It is not Christian

Yes Jack I do but you clearly do not understand scripture.  Its about Jesus and I said that before.  as far as your smokescreen the cross , where did that come from its not part of the conversation.  Stop trying to snow me.  You are saying that-contd

What is a Christian?  If you honor the cross...you are not a Christian. For there are no symbolic representations that signify what a christian is for it is a spiritual faith and have nothing to do with materialism. Do you keep the 10 commandments?

if you cant refute with scripture-ATTACK,You will not get me off track,An Apostle would understand scripture and you do not. There are no religions inside Christianity. and an apostle would not search for the right church,God would tell him wheretobe

True Christians keep the 10 commandments, and do not hide behind excuses to present themselves. There are no religions in the christian faith, which is why if one refer to his/her faith with any other title but Christian, then they are not Christians.

NO True Christians DO NOT keep any part of the law.   They keep the two of Jesus, which puts them under Grace not LAW.  if you want to continue this conversation lets move it the comment is not enough room to discuss a complete thought

I would confront the Pastor, in love, with Scripture and ask him to defend his teaching with Scripture. If he refused to change the teachings, I would then go to the board of elders, as that would be the next Biblical step. Finally, I would go with other members of the congragation to the leaders. If that final Biblical step did not clear up the issue, I would then leave the church and find another. We are called to confront false teachings and then move on and not merely leave first.

I would do what I did 3 years ago. My Church was preaching the false doctrine that Christians are to 'tithe'. I wrote up what I found from scripture proving that the Christian tithe is unbiblical. He ignored me, so I left.
