What are some tips on losing weight?
I want to lose weight, but to change my lifestyle. It shouldn't be a force and awful experience.
Losing weight is not easy but if you put your mind to it then you will get there. I try and start looking at your lifestyle then the foods you eat. I agree with you, it should not be a force and an awful experience but sometimes with losing weight it is not easy. It is either you do it or not do it. Have you considered taking walks or doing some gentle exercises like Pilates or Yoga? Walking, Pilates and Yoga are gentle exercises that you can do to start with and you don't have to go to the gym which cost a lot of money but you can do these at home. You can borrow some books from the library to use about Pilates and Yoga. Sedentary lifestyle can contribute to gaining weights especially with computers nowadays. I do it myself. Also try and cook the foods you eat instead of eating out or take outs as these foods contain lots of fats and salts which is not good for our bodies. Watching what we eat really helps us. Hope that answers your question.
I like lies answer. Exericse is important in addition to changing your eating habits.
I use yerba mate as a warm drink (sometimes replacing tea) to help lose weight.
The fastest and most effective way is to "stop eating". The solution to most problems is to do the opposite. How does one gain weight? By eating too much. Exercise works too if a person does not want to eat less. Smaller portions can also be very effective.
I think weight loss should occur as naturally as possible - without force or stress - but you still need a regime or plan to enable you to reach your goals.
I wrote a hub on this subject to try and help a friend who had gone through crash diet after crash diet and got nowhere. In fact she got quite ill and depressed because she was told about 'instant weight loss' and so forth, which is virtually impossible unless you're a professional boxer with pounds to lose before a big fight!!
Weight loss should not involve magical diets, or extreme diets or regimes. It should be stress free, natural and experienced with careful planning.
Hey HLKeeley iv'e got some good news for you, losing weight is easy if you understand how your body works....I can tell you how to do it, & my method takes only 20 mins a day....The thing about our bodies is it needs nutrients all day long, not just at breakfast/dinner & tea....If you don't eat "often" enough your body will store what it needs for later, but if you eat whenever your peckish then your body will stop storing what it needs for later....If you want to do it in months rather than years, get yourself a food storage box & do the following: Every night put in that box: Pasta/Sesame seeds/salted & roasted nuts/a carrot/tomatoes/sweetcorn/radish/tuna/mackerel/green leaves(wild rocket/spinach etc) + any other veg you like, also you can put sausages/bacon it if you want to, then add salad cream etc to taste....The point of all this is you then take it to work etc, & have a bit "whenever" your hungry...."little & often"....This will speed your metabolism up a lot, & you should start feeling hungry more often throughout the day....Then instead of your body storing fat etc, it won't need to ever again, & will start shedding it.
Track your food intake!!!
This is by far the most important. Most dieters just look at it as "This food is less fattening"
But they don't pay attention to HOW MUCH of the food they are ingesting.
I suggest finding an app or program to help with this. Many will allow you to measure what amount of food you're going to eat and even tell you how many calories that amount is. I used one called my fitness pal and lost 15 lbs in about a month.
Good luck on your weight loss journey.
And thanks for the idea on the hubs. I'm going to start a fitness related group in the near future, I'll probably start later tonight. Don't forget to follow so you can read them
Loosing weight is not only down to the amount of exercise you need to do. It is also worth considering your diet, try the following.
Consume a varied, balance diet, try to reduce sugar filled foods for instance sweets and fizzy drinks, and eat lots of fruit and vegetables.
Eat three meals, try not to miss meals as not wanting to eat will decrease your blood sugar allowing you craving sweet foods.
When you are getting peckish try healthy snacks for instance fruit, or carrot sticks and cucumber sticks with dip.
Review your portion sizes, are you currently eating too much?
Reduce fatty foods and eat unstaturated fats instead.
Eat lean meat were possible or cut excess fat off your meat.
Use healthier cooking means of example steaming and boiling rather than frying foods for instance.
Take care of the exercise and you ought to see some results soon.
If you are weighing oneself to check if you've dropped a few pounds from the exercise that you are doing, may possibly not show that you're shedding pounds if you are muscle building through exercising, as muscle weighs more than fat
