   The dreaded blue arrow - decrease in traffic to your hub
   
   I was curious what most people do when a hub they wrote starts losing traffic. Do you usually starts promoting the hub more in efforts to increase traffic, do you revamp the hub to try and bring in more traffic, or do you shrug it off and focus on your other hubs?

   At this stage in my pursuit of writing something worth reading, I simply don't care if I see blue arrows.
   
   But then earning income from my efforts isn't a primary objective, just a welcome bonus.
   
   I am always pleasantly surprised and flattered when I see someone has read anything I have written. Someone has just given me their time.
   
   That's not an easy thing to do, in person or on line.
   
   Case in point. My wife, who I know cares for me deeply, has read only one of the many recent pieces I have written.
   
   And that's because she has no interest in the subject matter.
   
   By the way, she is the kind of person quite willing to give an unsolicited objective opinion. You would think my work would be fodder her.
   
   Nothing.
   
   But, if I produce anything she may be interested in (or about her personally or anyone he really cares about), then she would be all over it like ants on honey.
   
   Even if it was poorly written.
   
   But, if I write something spectacular, which I haven't yet done, I'm sure she will find out about it and give it a read.
   
   And that is just reality.
   
   So blue arrows, in my opinion just tell the truth about an article at some level.
   
   Really, how many articles published at HubPages lead to any meaningful revenue or go  "viral". I suspect the percentage is quite low.
   
   The beauty of a place like HubPages is that you can keep on pumping out your work just to see what happens.
   
   Sometimes you get some feedback and the numbers related to views are extremely helpful.
   
   And who knows, sometimes that piece that changes how the world looks at an issue or provides twenty minutes of non-stop laughter will come from that keyboard if you write enough words.
   
   I think of every piece I write as a golf game. I may or may not have played a bogey free round and made brilliant shots along the way, but I was out there today and now it is done.
   
   Even if I won The Masters and it changed my life forever or if I came in dead last at men's night. It is over.
   
   Tomorrow I get to play again.
   
   Blue arrows be damned. I'll just write a new piece and un-publish the "insufficient traffic"  piece if I don't like it anyway. If I like it, it stays.
   
   Well tomorrow just happened and I am going to go write something. Maybe it will be worth reading.

   I shrug it off until I have time to find out new or recent info and update the Hub.
