   Why did I get banned for 3 days for merely stating an opinion about "alternative" health?
   
   Why did I get banned for 3 days for merely stating an opinion? Is this place run like a dictatorship? Am I banned just because my belief is different than someone else's?

   hmm, I have never heard of that happening before. I write about alternative health quite often and have never encountered a problem. did they give you an explanation?

   Make sure you have read the forum rules which are posted on the left margin of every reply page.  If you made any kind of personal attack, or what could be perceived as a personal attack, anyone reading that forum post can report you.  I read through part of the forum thread you've posted, but part of the responses were snipped. HP forums aren't always the easiest place to debate and post opposing opinions.  For whatever reason, people find it easier to push the report button rather than communicate reasonably.  If you're going to debate and post opposing opinions, keep it civil.

      You COMPLETELY miss the point Jayne and yes I am 23 years old. Let me explain it further for your since you obviously . I FOUND IT. All I said was "aren't bright enough", yet she attacked me repeatedly and no ban for her.

   Odd, to answer my own question, but I found out why I was banned. I posted You COMPLETELY miss the point Jayne and yes I am 23 years old. Let me explain it further for your since you obviously . the personal attack snipped part may not show up. However all I said was that "you aren't bright enough", which isn't nice BUT she and another woman repeatedly personally attacked me, which I could care less about, but don't ban me and not ban them, just because you don't agree with what I am saying

      Yes I think that is the case. I didn't even think about flagging them because I don't care if someone calls me a name. I just care when it stagnates an otherwise possibly productive conversation.

   There are no overlords watching everything we do. Banning results from being reported by other members, so isn't necessarily based upon any grand fairness, but rather on if you rub enough people the wrong way.
   
   Or that's my guess of how it works. I really don't imagine they convene a panel and evaluate the conduct of everyone in a thread. It is probably far more binary. They get a report, look at it, decide if it crossed the line and ban the person or don't ban them, which would be why you could get banned and someone else in the thread, who displayed similar conduct, didn't.
   
   The best way to go is to just never say even a hint of a personal attack. I'm sure you understand that the topic in question and your position on it are somewhat contentious. One of the best things you can ever learn about the internet is when to just take a deep breath and move on. Exert positive energy where it can have an effect and step away from the rest.
   
   Considering your belief in Yin/Yang nonsense, I'm sure you'd agree that negative energy is bad for one's health.

      Yin and Yang isn't nonsense. Night/Day, Female/Male and all other opposites are an obvious reality of life. Its seen in everything if one just opens their eyes.

      Yin/Yang medicine was practiced for centuries before "modern" medicine; without the monopoly our pharmaceuticals and specialists enjoy now, and sans the umpteen accidental death litigations that man-made medicine incurs today. Just say'n.

   I have been banned without any explanation as to reason or process. This has always occured if I disagree with atheist views.
   In my opinion HP is not run as a democracy at all but is run based on an acceptance of a kind of social media bullying. If enough people decide to complain for the heck of it then HP bows to the majority to hold onto the most people it can.
   Sad but true.
