Do you like to write about yourself?

I think I write about myself too much. Do You?

In general no, I don't write about myself, nor do I knock those that do! I think we are all different and should do as we please, you're not hurting anyone and it's likely that people may read because of you being you and putting yourself out there. However, I don't like to write about myself but I do like to share some of my experiences or observations.

I do write about myself often as it is therapeutic.  when you look back on what you've written you can see how far you have come and how you have grown.  I am one of my own favorite subjects - not because I'm narcissistic or anything lol - but because I use writing as a sort of therapy and tool for personal growth.

As for hubs and other writing, I mix personal experiences in when applicable to help people relate to what I'm talking about - it brings a human touch to the writing.  It can be very effective when not overdone.

I like to write in journals and I like the idea of a personal blog, though I don't have one. I have to confess I really enjoy talking about "me, me, me" when I go to therapy or the doctor too. So, yes, I enjoy writing about myself. But I don't when it comes to hubs because I try to keep those more objective and fact-based, though sometimes my info is based on personal experience.

I prefer not to write about myself, but since (at least with a lot of my online writing) I write from personal experience (and sometimes research or reading I've done for "business-writing" writing purposes; I have to pretty much include myself/my own experiences into the thing because that's the point - that I'm writing from personal experience and/or other learning, but not from specific research done for a specific thing I'm writing.

(That's why so many of Hubs are kind of weird pieces of writing that don't particularly fit anywhere online.   lol    )

I do occasionally (not often) write something a personal story from real life, more just because I want to write it either to entertain some potential reader or else just to have it written down for my grown kids (like their arrival-into-my-life stories, that type of thing).

The subjects I tend to most want to write about are already covered by "authority sites", and I don't really think trying to regurgitate (in enough words) the best authority sites on HubPages is (again, with my subjects) is going to fly very well anyway....     which is why my subdomain is a mess as I try to figure out how, if at all, I can make my approach/subjects fit in on the site these days.

I do, but I tend to keep it to a minimum. Even on my social networks, I don't say a whole lot about myself. And, no, I don't gossip or spread rumors about other people there either. Where I reveal more of myself is in my books because some of my characters are a lot like me.
