How can one define a woman's identity in a socially discriminated society?

I live in a place where women continue  to be overshadowed by  a man's identity. Being a girl of the 21st century and witnessing such a sight in the city life.. I am curious to understand your perspective on this matter.. do not look at it just at the personal level. try to view at it as a woman's position in the society..

"Don't go where you're tolerated. Go where you're appreciated".
I recently heard someone make that statement and it made perfect sense. No one is "stuck" being with anyone or living in a particular place. We always have the option to start anew with someone else or someplace else. The key is to know yourself, love yourself, and trust yourself. It takes courage to make changes and breakaway from toxic people and situations. Have a global approach concerning your life.
Each of us gets to (choose) our own friends, lovers, and spouse.
The beautiful thing about a door is it lets those who want in (in) and those who want out (out). We are always where we (choose) to be.
"If you want something bad enough you'll find a (way) and if you don't you'll find an (excuse)." - Jim Rohn
"Most people would rather attempt to change the world than to change themselves."

This definitely expresses a good approach towards working on this issue..but often we are stuck in a place where we do not have the liberty  to choose our enemies.. in this sense those men who roam around tampering the safety and liberty of a woman..

Unless a country has one locked in their borders there is always the possibility to move! Personally speaking on a couple of occasions I've moved thousands of miles away to pursue my happiness in life. Most people don't think beyond their hometown

Woman are much stronger in numbers. You may not be able to publicly rise above this but together with like minded woman you may begin to work on small issues first. Baby steps, no leaps and bounds, or expect to fall. Little successes will build into bigger ones, and finally it will take the man's world by surprise. Always there are men who truly do not feel as the majority do and they can be be your biggest asset in your step by step liberation.
