      I think there are few persons who engage in social welfare activities... But genrally most of the people are selfish in nature...Thanks for your answer

   I'm not sure where you are getting your information from. There are literally thousands if not millions of charities around the world. In the U.S. alone people gave $316.23 billion to charity in 2012.
   Aside from donating money to charity many others donate their time to mentoring organizations for underprivileged children and adults. Every single day people go unnoticed helping others in one way or another. We tend to see or find what we (look) for.
   However I see that you posted this question under "Gender and Relationships" - Single Life. Each of us (chooses) our own friends, lovers, and spouse. Everyone wants someone who (complements) their life. It would be impossible to look at all the people who are happily married or in relationships and conclude "people always tend to be selfish". People are falling in love and getting married everyday!
   One of the most unselfish things a person can do is share their life with another. It takes courage to be vulnerable to let someone in.

   Most people are selfish, & it's easily proven anywhere..Go to any supermarket anywhere & watch all the "fatties", pushing a mountain of food out the door..Walking straight past the charity collector, like they was invisible!lol..Go to any big football game & watch 100,000 selfish people, but go to a stop the war peace march & your'll see maybe a few 1000 people that aren't selfish..People are being taught by their government & media/celebs etc, to strive for fame & fortune & flash cars etc..To be a success in today's world is defined as having more than "other" people, whilst morals & standards or being poor are laughed at..I have met literally 1000's of people through work etc, & over the last 20 years have seen with my own eyes people in general becoming more selfish..All designed by our government, because they lead by example!.    Most people are selfish and that can be anyone. The way they were raised also has lots to do with their behaviors.
