I'm drawn to this question because this is a topic I want to touch on for an article / hub...

I want to quote a few scriptures here:

Matthew 6:27 "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"  --- No, we absolutely cannot. In worry, we are stuck in the moment, or stuck in a tomorrow that may not ever be, while the clock continues to tick away, life continues all around you, but you notice none of the beauty and blessings surrounding you because you're stuck in your mind's worries.

Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?" --- Yes, it is. Of course we need basics to survive but in focusing on the Spirit more than the things of the world, God sees & He ackowledges our heartfelt efforts to live in the Spirit & not in the world, He knows the strength of our faith and the magnitude of our love for Him -- and the Lord will provide all things: Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Matthew 6:34 "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." --- Pray and place your cares upon the Lord. Seek resolution, but do not allow yourself become so immersed in an issue that your loved ones are invisible, your blessings seem hidden, and life seems lost. I wholeheartedly believe and know that prayer resolves everything. God knows better than we do about the "why's" - we simply need to let go and trust in Him - He will always see us through.

    God bless you.

    Penny G
I tend to do the opposite, I dwell on any blunders I have done in the past, which, probably, causes me to sometimes lose the blessings of today.
However, I have studied the Bible enough to know that, Paul suggests
FORGETTING those things which are behind...in other words MOVE FORWARD.
I often think of what the newspaper reads when daylight savings occurs every six months:  FALL BACK, SPRING FORWARD.  Fall back and do not worry about tomorrow, and spring forward forgetting what has happened in the past.
I used to always worry about tomorrow...especially if I had a commitment, party, or a circumstance that was eating away at me.
Examples are: when I was in a public speaking club and I had to give a speech I would practice and stew about it...on and on until it was over with.
Or...when facing surgery, I would agonize in fear prior to the date.  (including any family members facing surgery).  Looking back on all this, God ALWAYS came through He ALWAYS worked it out.
My sister quoted Florence Scoville Shinn recently, she said: "Let God juggle the situation...if you try to juggle the situation, you will drop all the balls."
If I can get that imbedded into my heart and mind, the result cannot be anything less than peace.
I also love the quotes given you by mothersofnations.  These are quotes from God's word, and God is never wrong.
Thank you for a great question.  Sparklea  smile
