What is your favorite pet? Why?

My favorite pet is a dog. My pet dog is sweet and caring. Whenever he welcomes me home, my whole day stress is forgotten. How about yours?

My favorite pet is a puppy because they are cute and I like to bite them (in my mind).

I must initially caution you, my answer may indeed be biased. My favorite pet is my faithful god (backwards) named Molli-(nator). She is also my cheap personal trainer and is probably beside me more than my Better-Half. She anticipated a car accident just prior to it happening evidenced by her tugging on her leash and hurrying me away from being a pedestrian with impact from a "Machine." We were crossing a busy intersection; Mollinator saved me from a "Machine" out of control!
The Mollinator is of Belgian Malinois breed and managed to apprehend an intruder in our backyard that was literally running from the police after stealing and abandoning a car in the neighborhood adjacent to ours. The gentleman robber told the police as they "cuffed" him; "get me out of here, that dog is vicious!"  John Connor thinks otherwise...

my favorite pet was my 1st cat, Kitty. It catches lizards, birds, cockroaches, mice and odd pests. Now my present cat, doesn't catches anything but ask for food. I still prefer my 1st pet.

Your first cat was great. I hope to have a pet like that. Thanks for joining the thread.

My favorite pet is the fish. I don't have to walk it, bath it or take it to the vet. Just feed it, change the water occasionally and watch it live a carefree life.

I agree with you. My friend has a fish as her pet. The name of her pet is Goldy. She enjoyed sitting in front of the aquarium and plays with Goldy.

Rats. For only $5, you can get a pet that will live for 4-5 years and is extremely friendly, smart, affectionate, and playful. But for the love of all that's good and holy, don't get only one--rats are social creatures, and solitude is basically a death sentence for them. Get two, at least. Primarily both the same gender so you aren't suddenly running a breeding operation.

Oh, and you can tickle their bellies. Rats are ticklish, and they love belly ticklings.

That's good to hear about rats. That sounds interesting.

I love my tortoises. My grandfather brought our first tortoise home when I was 3 and we raised it together until he died in winter of 1993. Our tortoise was in hibernation when my grandfather passed away. I waited anxiously that spring for my tortoise to come out of her hole. She did not. We had to retrieve her from it. She had also passed away during the winter. When I was 18 I got a new tortoise. You can see her in my profile picture. She is very sweet and friendly. I cannot picture my life without a tortoise in it. Someday when I pass away, I hope to pass her down to my son, who also shares my love of tortoises.
