There is talk about living to a 1,000 years old. There are scientists &geneticists who are working

on eliminating age-related diseases & ailments. It seems fantastical to some but others believe it to be quite possible some day.  Would you want to live to be a 1,000 years old? Why? Why not?

No. Everything that was dear to you early in life would be long gone. It's too much for the brain to absorb. The earth would be too crowded. For those who do not believe in God and afterlife, it might seem attractive, but even 100 is long in our world.

No. I don't think it would be possible for me not to become bored with life before I reached age 1000. My guess is the suicide rates would escalate.
Those who believe everything that is written in the bible are aware it says that Adam lived to be 930 and Noah lived to be 950 and didn't have his first child until he was over 500 years old. Personally I think it's far fetched. I can't imagine man living for 1000 years.

For me, 125 years is ENOUGH for me. A 1,000, NO, I am throwing the towel at 100, 125 at the most. It WILL be time for me to GO!

      LOL!
I'll take 100 if I'm healthy and independent. I don't want to be one of those people "hanging on" laying in some nursing home bed with a soaking wet diaper waiting for a CNA to come change me or feed me. That's not living. It's existing!

True INDEED.  I mean a FULLY FUNCTIONING advanced old age. When I decline, it's TIME to make THAT EXIT!

If my closest relatives and family lived up to 1000, I would of course.
I would have time for trying so many things, so many hobbies. Our todays life isn't enough for getting to know much.
But if only had chance to live up to 1000 but without my husband, for example, I wouldn't agree not for toffies

1000 years are too many years for me, I  only would like to see the year 2070, if possible, but I would rather travel in time than to stimulate my body with surgery and medication. I have read about slowing down the biological clock of one's body; that is related to live a healthy and happy life, or probably like bears, which enter into hibernation, slowing down their heart beat.

Doing any of those two things would allow any one to reach some years ahead in the future.

Why on earth should I wish for living a 1000 years? If my life is cut off at 60, that's okay for me.

    My logic is this:

    - Food, drink, money, power, sex -- all I would have enjoyed.
    - My physical body and mental faculties are all mostly in tact before 60. After 60, everything starts withering.
    - I would have worked in a job, earned, liked the job and just got retired. I can escape from post-retirement boredom.
    - Let me enjoy or suffer the afterlife, or take a fresh birth in a new body, rather than enjoying/ suffering in this old body!

A lot of people that are 80 years old or older stop wanting to do things. So they spend most to their time being bored. They might go to sleep in the afternoon just because they don't have anything better to do. However I plan on taking good care of myself and I plan on keeping busy. I would want to live to be 1,000 years old if my body and mind were in relatively good condition.

I might end up changing my mind but right now I would like to live to be 1,000 years old. I would like to live to see the advanced technology.
