How do you declutter your wardrobe?
My children have plenty of clothes. One of them will be going to hostel next month. I dont feet like touching the wardrobe and segregate their clothes when I see the mess. It may take two full days for me to organize..
Give them fair warning that if they do not get their wardrobes organized you are going to do it and that when you are done they may not be happy. You might be surprised at how quickly they accomplish the task!
I agree! If they're old enough to go off on their own, they're old enough to take responsibility for their own "stuff." Tough love, here. Tell them you have xxx time to do it, or I will, and no complaints of how it was done!
When my kids were small I always encouraged them to arrange their wardrobe, bookshelf, study table, toys etc. themselves. Even if it was not up to my expectations, they used to do it. Afterwards I did the final arrangements. But they learnt that they have to do it all by themselves in future. Now they are in jobs in other cities and managing everything.
Children learn it when they have to do it on their own.
my teen doesn't allow me to touch her clothes. She dumps everything into her closet. So, the best thing is wait till she in good mood, declutter with her
The best way to teach children how to organize their wardrobe is by organizing yours in front of them because they copy quickly, what their parents do. I used to do so with my son and daughter, when they were children. And they have developed this habit so firmly that they also do so in front of their own children. Whenever I declutter my wardrobe, I call my eight year old grand-daughter to watch me. She has also caught the habit but sometimes I have to remind her.
It is true that children have plenty of clothes in their wardrobe as opposed to the children of our generation. Their wardrobes are, in fact, overflowing with clothes and thus organizing them is problematic.
I always suggest them to buy what is necessary but they are so much influenced by friends and peers that they pay no heed to it.
Ask them which clothes they would really like to wear and give the one's away that will clutter their closet.

My kids never asked about their dad, maybe because they know that we can never work things out. We've been separated for years now and we rarely receive any support from him.

When it comes to your wardrobe do you focus on quantity or quality?I recently read that Parisian women generally have 1/2 as many clothing items as American women, but tend to have very high quality items. I am curious, what clothing philosophy do you go for - quantity? quality? or a hybrid...

Would You EVER Let Your Guy Pick Out Your Clothes? I Did, for a Week! After reading a Shine post that featured husbands picking out an outfit for their wives, we got to thinking. Sure, a guy could probably pick out a decent outfit from a pre-screened selection of clothes once, but could he do it...

So, I read magazines, go online and go shopping quite a lot, but staying in fashion is VERY expensive... I know this is a bit impossible to have both, but how do I keep fashionable whilst keeping the spending costs low?

just can't give up? Are you one of those people that could give a flip what others think and just wear whatever makes you happy?
