Do you ever answer a question even after the Best Answer has been chosen?
I enjoy providing an answer to questions at times but sometimes there are already many answers, and decide not to. Have you ever given an answer to a question with many answers or even though the Best Answer was already picked?
Yes, if I feel I have something to add, or something that hasn't been stated yet I will answer anyway. If everything has been covered, I'll sometimes pass on by.
Yes I always do , because it is not that I am in the running for best answer, it is important to me that the truth be told on any subject. The best answer to me is a nice feature but the value is truth , because the one posting can be bias .
Maybe, in spite of all the time I've been on this page, I don't really understand how "Answers" is supposed to work; but I've always thought that if a question was still open it meant "feel free to answer". I've just always figured that sometimes whoever posts the question gets whatever he/she wants and selects "best answer" before moving on. In the meantime, HP leaves up the questions So, yes. If I think I have a half-decent answer to contribute I'll answer.
Most of the time I come to the Answers section first to look for ideas for Hubs (and there aren't many these days with the kinds of questions so many people post). If I don't see an idea for a Hub I may just leave. If I'm bored and looking for something to do that doesn't take bothering thinking up a whole Hub then I'll answer a question (again, if I think I have something to contribute). I keep copies of my answers (just what I write - not any part of anything anyone else wrote with the question) in case I decide to, say, post my answers on a zillion of my own blogs. (lol)
Then, too, no matter how long I've been on this site, I don't even really know how to do "write a Hub about it" without being uncertain that the Hub is even "connected" to the question (particularly after creating a decent-quality title out of something like a poorly written or presented question).
Nobody asked, but I really think the whole "Answers" thing could use some changes. It's too bad there isn't a feature for a person to "write a Hub about it" without having to worry about a whole, big, complicated, thing of coming up with a "mini-Hub" BUT being the one who gets "credit"/potential earnings for an substantial answer to a question that requires more a very few words/lines.
In any case, I just kind of figure that if people weren't supposed to answer once a "best answer" has been selected, the option to answer wouldn't still be there (for, for example, the bored among us ).
No. The reason has nothing to do with wanting the best answer given to me. If someone has already chosen best answer I feel like they have already gotten the answer they were looking for so I move on.
That's probably why I am not too quick to pick an answer...I want to wait a reasonable amount of time and choose. Sometimes I don't choose at all because I don't like any of them.
I agree, and sometimes I don't pick a best answer because multiple answers are equally good.
Only if it is a truly intriguing question. I used to love the Q&A, but I hardly ever go there anymore.

I apologize, but it seems a "Best" answer was chosen on my question when I did not choose it. I hope the HP Team can help me or someone can inform me why that happened! I noticed it via my phone and I knew that I did not choose an answer and I was not going to do so any time...

Do you think people are getting less hits because they pick a "Best Answer" too soon?I admit, many times I will pass answering a question that has a best answer chosen because I sometimes assume that the asker does not intend to re-visit their question once they pick. I know, answers are...

After asking a question do you usually go back and vote a "best answer" ?Maybe I'm being silly, but I don't like to choose a "best" answer to my HubPages questions. I get good answers from almost everyone and don't want to deter anyone from answering future questions or make...

How do you feel when someone has chosen the Best Answer to his own question? Before the option of choosing the best answer was introduced, I felt that all answers are important and interesting because the mystery of what author of the question thought made it open for thought. Now, every time...
