I would appreciate some advice.Yesterday a colleague approached me about joining Hub pages.I showed him my site which had an author score of 94.The page where I was featured authors with their scores - 99.I assured him the scores were out of 100.Then I showed him my hubs from my profile page.I am ashamed of my hub scores which fluctuates from 50-85.I opened a hub and explained that one can include ads from Ad Sense and earn money.Fortunately,he did not ask how much I have earned but he promised to return with more questions. The fact is that in three months I have not earned one cent! This colleague is a go-getter,a high achieving person. Unfortunately he looks to me as a model. My income performance will turn him off.Like me,he has bright ideas and is a trailblazer. How can I encourage him to sign up for HubPages yet avoid my blackhole of non-financial performance? Could someone suggests hubs I can direct him to right away so that he would model others who have been successful and not me?My problem is getting traffic and I have read countless hubs on that topic.Like I have said,I desire my colleague to not imitate me.
Here are my thoughts on the subject,

Ask him to visit the following discussion, many are sharing their income there:

It would be best if you Stop Selling HP to your friend.
Merely direct him to the site and suggest he surfs the works within it.
If your friend is looking only to make subsantial income from this site... then it will not happen until such time as the work has been done and that work has a constant high level of traffic from which perhaps .001% will be tempted to click the ads.
Welcome to the world of writing.
For yourself, mix your work up more so that it is not solely a religious perspective on life. Start looking at what you can help people with (other than churchwise) eg: How to wind your Alarm Clock or How to Train 15 year olds.
You have achieved 1000 veiws to your site to date which indicates that you have some potential. So Start believing in yourself and tell the world what you know!
Stop encouraging others to join until you have achieved what you expected and in the interim let them decide on the merits of the site. Perhaps if you find all this impossible.. you should redefine your goals.
Don't worry about the 3 months and no earning. Sounds like me.
Earning on HubPages is more of a mathematical phenomenon that involves time, quantity, and quality. The time part of the formula is a bigger part than most think. As I approach my first payout from google very soon, I remember almost quitting about three months ago.

Sorry, I have to be honest, I would not be here now if I had not earnt anything. I am a few dollars away from payout, and published my first hub 3 months and 2 days ago.
I will have to be blatently honest here to the OP. If you havent earn anything at all, then you need to stop writing...... read about SEO and Keywords. Just use that little search box at the top and type in those two things.
Then alter all of your hubs, so that they earn you money, before writing more.
Money is faster over at ehow...so maybe look there and direct your friend there. But they want 'how to' stuff not religious opinions.

It all depends on what you write about. I've been getting about .25 to $1.00 recently. I just wrote a hub about what to write to earn money on hubpages. Just send him to look at those that are making money.

I've been on here for 9 months and followed all the advice from the learning centre, forums and hubs from the best hubbers. I earned the first $24.00 in the first month and I'm only $1.00 ahead for the next eight. What am I doing wrong? All help will be greatfully received.

Why no income from Google Adsense?I signed up for Google Adsense when I posted my first hub two months ago. Since then, I have published fifteen hubs and had around seven hundred hits, yet I have not earned a single penny from Google Adsense. Can anyone offer a good reason for that?

Hello, I am new to HubPages. I have been here 2 weeks now, and in that time I have published 2 article's. However, I am not getting much traffic to either article? Is there something I am doing wrong? Is it because I am new? I am not sure what is going on, but wanted to reach out to some other's...
