America has always accepted new people and religions, should we change this?
This country was founded by Christians and the word God was in the paperwork, in schools and on money. We have changed our own beliefs to please people we took in not to hurt their feelings, Should we start putting us first again?
Actually, when America was the first form, the founding father wanted to pull away from the type of value, you are talking about here and want to move to the type of value, the US is today.
This is mostly, the result of the Age of enlightenment. There are a lot of academic studies and publication on the age of enlightenment, including a very interesting paper published by Columbia University. A lot of people don't know about it, but the Age of Enlightenment is in fact very much due to East Asia influence. This is a time, where Asia is still much more powerful than the west.
Traditional Asia society, believe in logic and reasoning, it also believe in the right of liberation, for example in Confucius ideology it wrote whether a person did something wrong is determine by, whether one disturb peace and harmony, if not then he did nothing wrong, even if this behavior is a sin or is not moral. This is very different from the traditional value of the west, that is dictated by the bible and people act according to the teaching of the bible blindly, that got really brutal during the dark and middle ages, this is especially considering the fact there are many disturbing teaching in the bible too. For example,
Deuteronomy 22:20-21
young woman, then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done an outrageous thing in Israel by whoring in her father's house. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.
This sort of behavior is completely inappropriate in Asia, because regardless of the moral implication of this sort of behavior, she didn't disturb peace or harmony.
When Asian ideals passed to the west, this was favor by many western educated and they start pushing for the idea of science and reasoning and also base on this confucius ideal, they push for the liberation, freedom and tolerance, we would know of today in the west, When US was first form, many founding father including Benjiment Franklin and Thomas Jefferson are people who push for it, but it was still in its early era and the old world view was still very strong, so they need to put stuff like God works on money, but it wasn't founded on Christianity or Christ, it was founded on the value to be liberated this old school western value, yet, maintain peace with it. And as we see within the past 300 years, US pull away from old school view to liberation more and more, with each passing generation. It is exactly what the founding fathers wanted to see happening
In the last 300 years we have accepted same sex marriages and allowed people that want to destroy us to dictate political correctness. My religious freedom was taken away because my kids can no longer say the pledge of allegiance in school and Merry Christmas is now happy holidays because it offends some religion that was not established here originally.. Christians no longer stone people while muslims still cut heads off. There are illegals sneaking in and taking jobs from Americans while not paying taxes and getting all kinds of government programs.
I do not want to judge anyone, I just feel it is time to start protecting ourselves. And I am curious to see if others feel the same way .
The moral compass of the US government has been broken in this century. The US is drifting and the minority are trying and somewhat successfully to push it in their direction.
What is the value system of the US today?
There is no value system today, and because of that we are susceptible to being overtaken by foreign elements that can take advantage of our chaos.
First, we need to ensure that only validated voters can vote in our elections. Otherwise, the illegal voters can turn the elections to their advantage. The congress is already listening to non validated voters and pandering to their desires, and not that of the American People.
We were created as a democratic republic, and that means that the majority tells our representatives in government what we want for the country and ourselves. That is the majority of those legally allowed to vote, but the trend has been to close our eyes to who is voting in our elections.
When illegal aliens protest in our cities, and fly the flag of their country, and attack the US flag, that should tell us that we are losing control.
As for respecting religions, we shouldn't have to change our values and our country to conform to their religion and their values. The immigrants of the late 19th and early 20th century conformed to US customs and values because that is the reason that came to the US.

Why do American Christians teach prosperity, when the Bible clearly tells us to expect suffering? The American Church teaches that prosperity is a sign of God's favor, this includes prosperity of health as well as wealth. What does this say about Christians in the Middle East who are tortured and...

Religion and 'bad' things - why do we see it in others religions only?Reading a few questions lately, this jumped out at me. Many are quick to point out the bad things in another's religion, yet when confronted with the same from their own, are quick to point out the difference between the two -...

Why do so many who profess to be Christian believe the lie that lucifer is satan?.Isaiah 14:12 is the only mention of lucifer in the bible. In Isaiah 14:4 the prelude to vs 12 clearly states that lucifer is the king of babylon. So why do the masses believe the lie taught by...

The intellectual underpinning of The Age of Enlightenment(roughly between 1706 t0 1792) AKA The Age of Reason as propounded by Thomas Paine in his seminal book of the same title was supposed to unbound man from the constricting embrace of both religious and governmental maelstrom, as...
