    Why did you start writing?

Writing is not for everyone! What inspired you to write?

I wanted to share my views on everything and that inspired me to start blogging. I started with an article on peeing at public places on a site called instablogs and wrote about 3 more social issues there during 2011. Later that site got merged with another site and all articles vanished from my reach. Then I started my own blog titled "Lifestyle Tips" on Google Blogger. I have another blog of Google Blogger where I post all my comments on news items. I found hubpages only in February 2014 and since then writing here also. I experience some problem in finding words for my thoughts. Even then, I don't feel discouraged. This is my journey of writing.

Thank you, Devika, for selecting my answer as best answer.
I forgot to mention the main purpose for starting my writing. It was the urge to spread human values and promote love, morals and ethics and a general awareness among people. Thank you, again

It was the simplicity of Robert Frost, and the greatest inspiration was the Noble Prize winning novel "Siddhartha", written by Herman Hess, that inspired me to write. I have often felt like the protagonist Siddhartha, but still groping for the best words............. and that's it.

I have the creative drive and was writing for years. Hubpages simply provides another forum for monetizing it.

.Perhaps its the need for  an intense honesty  on the  very level of the  soul !  I mean as in  writing poetry , How could  you be so honest with a person  that  you could meet  on the street ? For instance , I could never say " I love you " to a perfect stranger and yet feel an intense universal  emotional  connection .  Maybe   writing is a waste of the very part of the soul that is so eternally so desperate  ? Or a yearning of  the heart that can never be answered , never !.............You tell me .

I am a storyteller. I have told stories for as long as I can remember. I used to tell my older sister stories when we were in our room at night so she could fall asleep. Any subject, any time, any place, any anything, I could always make up a story. I began writing in an attempt to tell my stories on paper. So far it isn't working out too well. I can tell a story to a room full of people and have 100% of their attention by the end of my story but I can't do the same thing when writing it out. I bore myself so often I stop writing. Oh well, I still enjoy telling stories. So do my kitties, my furniture, my clothes, my food, and everything else that crosses my path...

My writing was born of an inner struggle between knowing I had a story to tell and thinking that someone else had already told it. People never seemed to listen to me very much so I just thought to myself: well, I'll write it all down then!
