When will the leading candidates for the presidency discuss plans for changing Social Security?
Isn't it important that the leading candidates for the presidency tell the voters up front what their plans are for changing or protecting the latest version of Social Security at a time when premiums and penalties for Obamacare are straining senior's difficult budgeting? Increases in Social Security withholding from workers' pay could mean changes will affect everyone....not just voters!
Social Security has not been an issue for a long time because I think the GOP has finally realized that the majority of Americans will eventually rely on it for retirement. As a Republican, I have no problem. It's been around a long time and is now part of our daily lives. That being said, an increase in the tax is warranted. Why not go to 7%? Make Medicare 2%. That would keep them solvent for a long time and help with health expenses.
2017 is going to be brutal for health insurance premiums. So anything that can help, we should do.
We voters deserve to hear at least the Republican nominee and the Democrat nominees discussing such an important issue, so we have no surprises later and know what we will be voting for, if we support one or another candidate. The question hangs.
Then why are you asking us? What else would I give except a personal response?
No Changes to Social Security are Necessary ~ Hillary & The Majority of Democrats / Socialists have Clearly Expressed an Open-Ended Commitment to STRENGTHEN & Enhance the Government Sponsored Program which has helped MILLIONs of American Senior Citizens Retire with Dignity & Comfort ~ Conservative Republicans have Clearly Expressed an Intent to Dismantle the Existing Program in favor of "Privatization" which essentially means the Private Sector, Primarily Wall Street, would "Manage & PROFIT" from your Retirement Savings which may or may not be there for you when you need it ~
Lets hear that from the candidates themselves, not the partys though a party-wide platform or stance can be significant. C.J Kelly gave a personal response, but we are not voting for C J Kelly. I think the primary candidates owe it to the voters.

Into the 6th year of his presidency, Obama, at this juncture, should be enjoying the "fruits of his labor". Should, but he isn't, so the question begs to be asked: "Why is he not looking into the sunset of his presidency with great aplomb, alacrity and grace?"From the hoopla...

Why do political people seem to demonize the opposition rather than discuss issues?I see this on both the right and the left and it drives me batty. Why do conservatives like to use "liberal" as a dirty word rather than debate issues on merit? It's easier to whine about liberal this...

Isn't it time for the presidential candidates to discuss their political records?Trump has been hit by all the other candidates for not having the right stuff, and part of that stuff is that he is not a politician. Shouldn't the voters compare the political records and the effectiveness or...
