They give me space to post my goofy sh** and earn a little bit of beer and pizza money every once in a while. What's not to like?

Haha....that's nice. I am happy to hear that you are earning well from HubPages smile
How much you are earning per month?

We're not allowed to divulge actual earning amounts (it's against Da Rules)... so I will stick to saying "beer and pizza money."

I'm a freelance writer, it's how I make my living. Mostly I have to work with clients (I mostly ghost-write), editors and publishers. Don't get me wrong, I love my work, but rejections, rewrite requests, complaints, always having to look for new clients and negotiate contracts, etc.-- this all comes with the territory. I have to write based on someone else's inspiration, to someone else's liking. Frankly, sometimes the topics are boring as well, but work is work.

On Hubpages, I get to control my content. I mean, I respect that they expect a standard of quality, but I'm mainly in control. I can write what interests me, in the tone/style I like, and I'm the editor who gets the final say. It's freeing.

Then the money started rolling in, lol, and I like that as well.

I agree with you. As a freelance writer you have to follow and do work for others but here on HubPages, you can write anything and everything. You have control of your thoughts, you have remote control in your hand and you can change the channels smile
