Should you be able to vote online?
Imagine there was a website that you could sign up for, and on election day, vote. You would only be able to open one account. You would only be able to vote once. Your account would be verified and it would be done in such a way that no one could make up a fake account. You would have to register to vote before you could get in. Wouldn't this be more convenient--people wouldn't have to stand in line and go to a place?
NO!
WOW! They constantly hack into my computer now and if you want to see more dishonesty than what is currently in politics, just go online!
Excellent answer because it is so true
No. There's really no fool-proof way to ensure that people aren't making fake accounts. Making multiple accounts for something is pretty easy to do if you're tech savvy, even with security measures. Even if there were ways to 100% ensure people weren't making multiple accounts, hackers would have an absolute field day with that.
I've never felt super inconvenienced to go out and vote. I'm not sure how it works down there but up here you are allowed to leave work at any point during the day to vote without losing pay. There are polling stations everywhere and usually easy to access even if you don't have a car. Waiting in line sucks but it's to vote for the future of your country, surely taking an hour or two of of your day every few years isn't a huge hardship.
This would be a great way to be able to vote. The Internet still isn't safe enough for something of such value. People lose their complete identity because of insecure systems. Can you imagine the cheating that would go on?
So true. There is also the problem of vetting the person to ensure that they are qualified to vote, as meeting the requirements, such as citizenship etc.
Then there is the verification that the online person is real and who they say they are.
The Office of Personnel Management database containing millions of records of those with security clearances and their full files was hacked - and this information is almost as sensitive as classified data itself.
The DNC's political records were hacked if not leaked by an insider.
Given that the government can't protect records that are highly important to federal employees and leadership, we can't trust them to keep voting information from being hacked - or shifted per the ruling party's whims to give them a victory.

My work "mates" found out a while back that I write Hubs and now every time I write a new Hub, I have to look forward to going into work Knowing that I will get teased about my latest work, it is very off putting and makes me want to stop writing altogether.I wonder if anyone could offer...

I was just wondering because I'm beginning to have trouble keeping track of all of my hubs and it will just get worse.

I've read a few times that if you have multiple HP accounts it is best to only use one of them for your forum posts. For anyone with more than one account - does your Hubber score suffer on an account that doesn't participate in the forums, and does it matter?

I've always wondered why some Hubbers have more than one account. Is this a good thing or not? The only thing I can think of is that after a person writes many Hubs, it becomes a chore to take care of that one account.

Sorry for the inconvenience- but that's what I just saw. HubPages staff, Jason Menayan, who runs another account called 'livelonger', just posted here in the link below, to save the Hubs from sinking??? Hah!I quote forum rules- "Multiple Accounts: While we don't prohibit having more than one...

Hello everyone! I work with multiple accounts here on Hubpages. This is the first one that I created and therefore is where I do most of my interacting in the forums (though there's not much interaction on my part -- sorry about that). There are several reasons that I prefer niche accounts, and I...
