Is "Revenge Gift Giving" going overboard?

In the latest act of nonsense, Democrats are using Christmas to seek a bit of revenge on their Trump-supporting friends and relatives.  Instead of a gift, reports are that disgruntled Democrats are making donations to liberal causes in behalf of Trump voters and giving them a notification card wrapped in a box.  Imagine opening a gift that said you made a $50 dollar contribution to planned parenthood or even the DNC.

Well what would you expect of today's modern Democrap party?

But if a relative or friend of mine did that I'd reciprocate with a card indicating a donation twice as large to the NRA, Pro-life organizations, the RNC, a real Hatian relief group...

and a "What to Do to Go to Hell Tract" (whoops, they're sold out right now! Guess this caught on?)

And the real revenge is that they will know I made those contributions when, were the truth to be known (and true to their deceitful nature) the "democrat friend or relative" probably never actually gave any money to any liberal cause, and if they did I will take consolation in the fact all they did was dupe themselves into throwing their money away while spurring me on to share the Christmas spirit with causes they despise and who will actually use my money for what it is intended, unlike liberal charlatan causes.

    Merry Christmas Ralph!

I've experienced this, and I don't care much more than the other years where gifts of charitable donations are made in my name to charities I disagree with.
And I'd rather see this than screaming over holiday dinner or political lectures as the Democrats demanded in prior years of "talk about why family members should sign up and support Obamacare over holiday meals".
