When will hollywood elites learn that you can't disrespect half your audience and half of America?

It seems so infantile watching the Golden Globe last night...why are these elites keeping doing the same thing expecting a different outcome? Isn't that the very definition of insanity? The election is over, half the people have spoken by their vote. They and the dishonest media created a false narative. To quote Laura Ingraham - "shut up and sing..." or act...

"Hollywood elites" tells me you don't really know where most of those people came from, and that you didn't listen to the speech Meryl Streep gave last night.

"...half the people have spoken by their vote" is incorrect. If we went by how people voted, we would have a different president elect waiting to take office.

Free speech, man. People can say what they like. That isn't a right reserved for Lord Cheeto and his Twitter account. If people are unhappy about the state of their government, they have every right to speak out about it.

After all, those "Hollywood elites" listened to you and your kind bash President Obama for the past eight years. Now it's time to reap what you have sown.

Lisa, there is a time and place for voicing your political views. What I am saying it was out of place for her at an award show honoring her for a lifetime achievement... What are you talking about? We criticize Obama for his failed policies...

And according to Lord Cheeto, the time and place is 3AM and Twitter.

There's this thing called a remote which allows you to either turn off or mute a program if you're not enjoying it.

There's also this thing called free speech which plenty of Americans are all rah-rah about until someone says something they don't like and then suddenly it's a problem.  Conservatives are always calling for speaking your mind and being less PC... or is it only okay when conservatives do it?

It's not a free speech issue, in my humble opinion. I just think it is inappropriate, but then again who am I to give advice to an oscar winning actress...

I agree, and it doesn't matter the left is dying, and I personally have used the remote as most entertainment today is not entertaining, it is used by hollywood to infuse the liberal ideology into the country, like Pavlov did with dogs and bells

aime, If you follow what I say here and in my hubs, I did not support either Trump or Hillary. I just call it as I see it. I only rejoice at the election of Trump have created an "Trump derangement syndrome" on the left... it is a train wreck.

I think one reason liberals mindlessly parrot the media is because 99% of tv is liberal propaganda. Bad, evil, social engineering manipulation of the mind.

Conservatives have no entertainment. Look at the garbage hollywood puts out.  Lots of cartoons aimed at adult liberals? Its no wonder they need safe places and legos. The humour is poor and mostly sexual or bathroom related or both.  Hollywood is putting out sickness.

Here is a news flash. Merle Streep couldnt act her way out of a wet paper bag. Im aslo sick of looking at no talent Jimmy Fallon.

Conservative should completely boycott the movie theatres and dvd and rental industry if not out of protest, out of itsa lousy product.

I disagree, I think she is afine actress. Just wish she keep her politics out of her acting career as most people do.

She monotone drones through her parts. I cant name one movie that she is any good in. She certainly never deserved the awards lavished upon her. When I ask people what her greatest role was and the name of character, people come up blank.

Phoenix I agree, and acting is acting but the problem is the script trying socially re-engineering everyone to be a Pavlovian liberal.

It is sickening to witness Donald's supporters defending his mocking of the disabled. It's on video remember.
They shift their focus onto "alleged other issues" that don't exist, or just completely ignore the point altogether.
Such behaviour is shameful, hypocritical and unchristian in the extreme. It is shifty behaviour.
Don't they have a conscience anymore? Where's it suddenly gone?
